Wakanda Forever Inspires Lexus And Their First-Ever All-Electric RZ450e
We are so excited for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever!
If you’re like most of the world, you’re eagerly awaiting the premiere of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on November 11th. Picking up after the ending of “Black Panther,” we’re now entering a slightly different Wakanda with the death of King T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman.
What hasn’t changed are so many of the things that make Wakanda a utopian nation with the ability to save the world. The citizens will still be loyal to the throne. They will still fiercely defend their nation. The Wakandan commitment to sharing breakthrough technologies is even more urgent as they’re forging a new path forward.

An Electric Future for Lexus RZ 450e and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”
It’s only fitting that this commitment to the latest technologies we’re seeing on the screen is being mirrored by Lexus, Marvel Studios, General Okoye (played by Danai Gurira), and the Wakadan warriors of Dora Milaje. Part of the new path forward is introducing the new 2023 Lexus RZ 450e. The Lexus RZ 450e is the most advanced Lexus ever, and it’s the first fully electric car to join Lexus’ lineup.
The Lexus RZ 450e is the star of Lexus’ “An Electric Future” campaign, and they haven’t shared all its secrets yet. The RZ 450e has just made a debut on the red carpet for the movie world premiere, and is scheduled for release in late 2022.
The Lexus LC 500 convertible and Lexus GX will also be featured in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The Lexus RZ 450e shares the same aerodynamic body lines and minimalist luxury styling in the cabin with the LC500 and GX. It’s really sleek.

How does Lexus fit into the Wakandan World?
With its innovation! One of the reasons that Lexus is returning for their third partnership with Marvel Studios is because Black Panther offers hope for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movies have introduced us to the future we all want to live in through the world of Wakanda. While Wakanda shows an unassuming facade to the world, it is technologically-advanced, elegantly ruled with integrity and loyalty, and by the end of the first movie, it is also socially conscious.
“The technology, creativity, and imagination we encounter in the futuristic nation of Wakanda is a natural fit for the sustainable, global society Lexus envisions with the introduction of our most advanced vehicle ever, the fully-electric RZ 450e, further extending our electrified vehicle portfolio,” said Vinay Shahani, Lexus vice president of marketing.
Mindy Hamilton, senior vice president of global partnership marketing at The Walt Disney Company has shared that at the core of all the collaborations/partnerships that they enter into is following their core mantra of reflecting the world outside their window.
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is reflecting the world outside of all our windows and how we see Wakanda. It isn’t just the future. It’s here today for the driver who needs a vehicle with the power to conquer traffic and protect her precious cargo. We might not all be superheroes but we’re looking for the same power and luxury in our daily drives. At the same time, just outside of our window we get that it’s not a bad thing to consider a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective electric vehicle.
Ms. Hamilton goes to on state, “The power, elegance, and future-forward vision of the Lexus brand aligns perfectly with the Black Panther franchise. We couldn’t be happier to team up with Lexus once again to bring an action-packed story and supporting 360 campaign to life.”

Confident and Empowered: The Spirit of the Dora Millaje
Danai Gurira, better known as General Okoye, shared that Lexus is definitely Wakandan. “Any time there’s a passion for innovation and seeking a better way for the world to function you’re being a little Wakandan.”
It is hardly surprising Lexus is choosing to feature the powerful warrior women of the Dora Milaje and General Okoye in this ad. Lexus is continuing to support a culture that reflects, empowers, and respects the diversity of its employees because they believe that a more diverse and inclusive workplace drives innovation.

Like the Lexus RZ 450e, General Okoye is taking on new challenges as both a diplomat and a warrior. She’s moving out of her comfort zone as we don’t know who the new Black Panther will be. In the real world, Ms. Gurira hopes that the young girls who see the Dora Milaje will be empowered to be more of themselves and confident in their uniqueness.
The complexity of the storyline in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on the screen and in the hearts of fans can’t be understated. Coming off the global pandemic, the extremely unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman, and all the lessons of social justice learned since 2020, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be challenging to watch but celebrated just because of how epic it will be. The only question left is what’s your plan for watching it.
