This week I was invited to witness the Genesis Inspiration Foundation donating $20,000 to Exploring the Arts (ETA), and honestly, it was so inspiring.
ETA is an organization that helps principals and teachers develop sustainable arts programs and better leverage the arts to strengthen student learning and engagement. Its out-of-school student programs nurture youth development through arts programs, college and career preparedness, and social-emotional skill building.
Home is Where the Art is
Since 2018, the Genesis Inspiration Foundation has provided more than $10 million to support arts education in under-resourced communities, ensuring children from all backgrounds have access to the transformative power of the arts.
“Having students who are learning, who are engaged in their school community brings immense benefits to the larger community as a whole,” Rubi Fregoso, Interim Executive Director for Exploring the Arts said.
“These are students who find a home at their schools because they are involved in the arts. That home creates confidence. That home creates the ability to find community, and it makes them true citizens of where they are. That opportunity for young people is invaluable.”
