What to See at the 2020 Houston Auto Show — or the Auto Show Near You

Houston Auto Show

The best shopping only comes around once a year.

Finally… auto show season is back! And we couldn’t be happier. Cars. Trucks. SUVs. Vintage cars, concept cars, adventure-themed trucks, motorcycles and more inspire us through the winter to dream big and drive bold. We kicked off the season at the 2020 Houston Auto Show.

We love this because you can really shop. Since you can’t actually buy a car at an auto show there’s no pressure. You can ask questions, get details on all the cook features and what they cost, learn about different trim levels and then price it out for yourself before stepping into a dealership. And when you do go to the dealer, you’re prepared and knowledgeable to get the car that fits your life.

So where do you start in this candy store of drivable awesomeness?

Texas Debuts start with the Mustang MachE

Finally, the sleek, sporty, muscular Mustang comes in a 4-door and it’s all electric. It goes on sale at the end of 2020, but you can see it now.

Also, be among the first to see the newly redesigned Chevrolet Tahoe, expanded to reflect different lifestyle trims such as the upscale High Country, the sporty RST and the badass off-road Z71 edition.

Another first for Texas is the all new Land Rover Defender. This iconic safari-conquerer has been redesigned and re-tooled for how we live modern life off the grid.

Need a Bit More Horsepower in Your Life?

The new Dodge Charger Widebody— the muscle car built for families— can be seen, and shortly can be yours.

So can the Corvette, which has just made the transition from classic sports car to supercar.

For pure-electric thrills, take a look at the Karma Revero, which is built in California.

Time to Get Real? You’ll Find That, Too

The brand new MazdaCX-30 is everything we love in an SUV sized for city life and comfort.

Check out the brand new Kia Seltos (starting price $22,000).

And the first ever Hyundai Venue (starting price $17,000), which will charm you.

And family favorites like the Toyota Highlander, which is on sale now and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which rolls out to dealerships next month.

Hop in, check out the cargo area, get a tour of the infotainment systems, compare fuel economy, let your kids sit behind the wheel and try out access to the back seat and third row. All the things it’s hard to compare driving dealership to dealership on a busy Saturday afternoon.

The Houston Auto Show runs from January 22-26 at the NRG Center. Tickets are $14 for adults, $5 for children 6-12; parking is $15 and you can get a $2 discount coupon per ticket here.
