Even if that adventure is only on the road to school and back.
Created for the adventurers, families, and those unwilling to give up style and luxury in favor of capability, the Palisade was named in reference to a line of high, substantial, towering cliffs. And, the Palisade was designed to meet that high level of expectations, too: What we’ve been begging for in a stylish, family-friendly vehicle.
This 8-passenger SUV boasts large amounts of cabin space, flexible drive modes, and available luxury that offers your family the high-end travel experience you are looking for, even if your budget isn’t as ‘caviar’ as your taste.
7 or 8 Passenger Seating and Lots of Cargo Space Means There’s Plenty of Room to Spread Out
Family adventure can mean a lot of different things. It can mean road tripping to new locations, lugging around gear for extra-curricular activities, or even fulfilling day-to-day life responsibilities like picking up the groceries. No matter what adventure our daily life brings, it’s important to have a vehicle that can stand up to the challenge. Although, more importantly, how about vehicle that can handle these challenges easily so we can better enjoy the ride?
Captains Chairs Mean More Legroom For Everyone
The Hyundai Palisade seems ready to take on this task by offering seating for up to 8 passengers, with the option for 2nd row captain’s chairs instead of bench seating. This no-cost option on the SEL and Limited trim lines is perfect for families who are looking to increase personal space over the need for more seating. And while we’re on the topic of space, the 3rd row has 11 fewer inches of leg room compared to the second row. Still, Still, the 3rd row has 31.4 inches of leg room, though it’s slightly less space than a few of Palisade’s competitors. However, we found that opting for the 2nd row captains chairs did help to give the third row a slightly less cramped feeling.
But don’t think that just because you have seating for up to 8 that this vehicle offers less room for cargo! The Hyundai Palisade breaks the mold by offering versatile storage space throughout the cabin. This comes in forward-thinking solutions such as fold-away cup holders, open space below the center console, and by adding a tray and hidden compartment to the rear cargo area. Plus, when adventure calls for even more storage space, the 2nd and 3rd rows have the capability to fold flat.

The Rugged Design and Premium Appearance Are Ready to Take You Anywhere.
Let’s take a quick moment and think through all the different driving conditions you might experience on a regular basis or family adventure. Does your list include highway driving or curvy roads? What about snow? Gravel roads? Steep hills? Because so often our adventures include many different driving scenarios, we love that the Hyundai Palisade offers several different driving modes to choose from!
We also love that Hyundai makes it easy to switch between driving preferences with a turn dial on the center console. This dial allows the driver to switch between different modes such as Eco, Sport, Comfort, Smart, or Snow. In doing this, you have the ability to tell the car how to perform in different scenarios. The car will then respond with more/less aggressive acceleration, increased traction, or other internal adjustments to accommodate the road conditions.

New Technology Helps You Get Where You’re Going… Safer!
In addition the the adjustable drive modes, this vehicle also totes some other pretty impressive technology that makes heading out on an adventure not only a bit “cooler” but also safer! While offering many of the safety measures we’ve come to expect in a vehicle, such as Lane Keeping Assist, Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist, Front/Rear Distance Warning, Surround View Monitor, Driver Attention Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, the Hyundai Palisade also showed me a few new and exciting things!
What sticks out first and foremost is the available Blind View Monitor which uses the side cameras to display your blind spot areas via video image in the drivers dashboard cluster area. This proved to be quite helpful when changing lanes as it is activated with use of the turn signal.
Another helpful feature is Safe Exit Assist. This safety measure is one that I am excited to have with younger kids as it displays an audible and visible warning when vehicles approach the parked vehicle from the rear, also locking the rear doors from opening. This important design helps stops the rear passengers from exiting the vehicle on a busy street when oncoming traffic is present!
Luxury Doesn’t Take a Vacation, but You Certainly Can!
Driving has the ability to be a great escape, although not so much when the passengers are upset or uncomfortable. Thankfully, Hyundai took cabin comfort into consideration when they designed the Palisade with the hopes of it being a “yacht-like” experience for the road.
In creating this “comfort-centered” luxury design, Hyundai included 7 USB’s, rear seat HVAC controls, easy button access to the 3rd row, phone pockets behind the seats, and an app for staying easily connected to your vehicle.
However, even with all of these amazing additions, the most impressive thing they included was control over the cabin noise! This ability is made possible with a Driver Talk button that broadcasts the drivers voice over the speaker system to the rear seats. Another option to love is “Quiet Mode,” which mutes the rear speakers for resting passengers!
