Our Favorite Cars from The Crown, Season 4
Casting for The Crown has been exceptional—but the automotive casting is on another level.
The Crown has hit the 1970s and 80s, which means we’re not only living through the glory of Princess Diana, but we also get eye candy in the form of some absolutely gorgeous cars. Whether it’s Aston Martins or a handsome Rolls-Royce, season four of The Crown is spot-on with its luxury and its true-to-life casting. So, to celebrate one of the best bingeable shows on Netflix right now, we’ve put together a list of our absolute favorite cars driven by each character from the new season.

This is a personal favorite of mine, if only because Aston Martins convey the sophisticated elegance of British royalty. The DB6 Volante used in The Crown is very similar to one Prince Charles bought in 1971. While the green shade of the show car isn’t true to life, it is a nice callback to England’s national racing color, known as British Racing Green. It was a way for race fans to easily identify the country of origin of the team, and it’s a great touch here.

Now, this is just a great one. The Paris-Dakar Rally is one of the most dangerous and difficult overland rallies in the world, taking competitors from the streets of Paris on through harsh desert climates and putting them to the test both physically and mentally. Mark Thatcher tried his hand as a co-driver in the iconic event in 1982, which would mean he would read notes to the driver to guide them through the route. It’s not an easy job, and it resulted in the Prime Minister’s son being stranded in the Sahara after its suspension broke. The fact that this machine gets a little nod in the show is hilarious and also near and dear to my rally-loving heart.
