Is the Mazda 6 the Best Luxury Car Under 40k???

Mazda 6 Signature

Santa’s little helper makes holiday errands less stressful.

During the holidays, I got to take the Mazda 6 out to run some holiday errands with my daughter. She loves when mommy gets to drive luxury cars because she enjoys the pampered life. Heated leather seats and plenty of charging ports and she’s a happy camper.

But don’t be fooled, this pampered princess also enjoys doing good for others. One of our holiday traditions is giving back. This year, we volunteered at a gift wrapping center for an organization (Santa in Blue) that brings less fortunate families Christmas gifts during the holidays. We loaded up a bag of unwrapped toys in the car and spent the day sorting and wrapping gifts.

Sleek and Sophisticated

As a mom, I love to drive my SUV for it’s elevated style and stance, but spending a week with the sleek and sophisticated Mazda 6 Signature sedan was a mood changer. This top of the line sedan is a fun ride with all the bells and whistles. My daughter and I enjoyed (and appreciated) the luxury ride after a long day of volunteering.

Automatic or Stick Shift, Take Your Pick

The Mazda6 Signature comes with the option of a stick shift. I don’t know how to drive stick but if you do, I’m sure you will enjoy this feature. You are also able to do manual shifting while still operating an automatic transmission. I thought this was a cool feature. Learning to drive a stick shift is on my list. Maybe the next time, I’ll be able to enjoy it.

WHO THIS CAR IS FOR

  • Stylish gals who like a sporty ride, luxury, and fine details
  • Moms with one older child. The car fits up to 5 passengers but it’s no family car- unless you have one kid (who likes luxury), like me.
  • Girl on the go, working moms who need a second car
  • Single women
  • Married couples without children

Tons of Comforts for the Ride

Don’t be deceived by the size of the car. The Mazda 6 provides a very comfortable ride. Heating (and cooling!) leather seats are offered in both the front and back seat. Did I mention a heated steering wheel, too? LOVE it. Back to the seats-Mazda engineers really went all out to create comfortable seating. To simplify, they’ve created balanced seating within the car that gives you less fatigue when driving or riding in the car. As someone who suffers from sciatica, I definitely felt a difference when driving the car- it was a comfortable ride. Holiday shopping can be tiring so it was nice to have a comfortable seat for driving.

SAFETY FEATURES to Keep You Safe (and Relaxed)

One thing I love about Mazda is the 360º view monitor with front and rear parking cameras that show you your surroundings. At first, I found it confusing to see so many angles pop up on the monitor. Once I quickly figured it out, I really appreciated the views. You could see if the cars next to you are moving, too close- or if there are people passing. This is great to prevent any mishaps.

Safety features also include:

  • Reduces the risk of rear-end accidents by allowing the car to stop at low speeds before an accident (from the front).
  • Automatically keeps a safe distance from other cars. It can also stop the car or alert you.
  • Lane departure warning- alerts you if you are leaving your lane.
  • Front-lighting keeps the road ahead of you well lit for a safer ride.
Mazda 6 Trunk Space

LUXE is in the Details, Right?

The Mazda6 Signature combines a turbo engine with a luxury interior. It comes with Nappa leather seats, Japanese Sen wood, and UltraSuede finish materials. I especially loved the suede finish across the dashboard and doors. You will also notice beautiful satin chrome trim. With this model, it’s all in the details.

More Storage Than You’d Expect in a Sedan!

For a sporty sedan, this car definitely has storage space. The trunk is spacious enough for groceries, work bags or light luggage. The consoles are on the smaller side but I actually like this because it prevents you from loading up the car with junk. All you really need are a few essentials and phone chargers.

Mazda 6 Tech

Tech To Keep You Connected and Happy

Despite all the tech the Mazda 6 includes, it’s very user-friendly. It has a push starter and hands-free features for a safer drive. Control everything from the center console and the steering wheel. The 8-inch full-color touchscreen display has Apple Carplay, too. If you’re an Apple user, simply connect your phone and access from the car’s touchscreen. There are also plenty of charging ports in the Mazda 6. I was impressed with the backseat console which has buttons to control the heated leather seats, sturdy cup holders, two charging ports, and a small storage compartment.

New Tech Highlights for 2018:

  • Fully redesigned seats
  • New ventilated front seats
  • Standard dual automatic climate control
  • 8-inch full-color touchscreen display
  • New 360º View Monitor with front and rear parking views and sensors
  • Windshield-projected, full-color active driving display
  • BOSE audio system

What This Car Costs

You’re probably wondering how much a beauty like this costs. For all its luxe features, the 2018 Mazda6 is reasonably priced and currently on sale with a starting price of $34,750. If you have a smaller budget, the Mazda 6 Sport starts at $23,000. With the Signature design, you get more features like suede finish materials, chrome trim, sporty leather-trimmed seats, driver seat memory (keeps your seat and mirror just how you like it). Let’s not forget the beautiful newly designed grille in a gunmetal finish (to match the rims). It’s like accessorizing your outfit, only on a car instead. The Signature design is for the girls who love to accessorize, definitely not a plain Jane’s car.

What We Loved

The Mazda 6 is a sleek, sporty and sophisticated ride. It was so much fun to drive. I loved the signature design details, the seating comfort, heated seat and steering wheel features and the exterior design as well. I also loved the Snowflake White Pearl color of the car which I believe makes it more elegant. This is a luxury sedan that has a lot to offer- style, comfort, and luxury.

My Mazda6 Playlist

No ride is complete without some good tunes. This playlist makes for a fun ride, especially with a BOSE surround sound system (with 11 speakers). Keep in mind, I hang out with a 12-year-old so a lot of these songs are on the younger side but still, pretty good stuff for the ride!
