Chevrolet is moving full steam ahead to the electric future, and also meeting customers where they are.

With three new electric cars coming for 2024, Chevrolet can get you into one for around $30,000, and with three options Chevrolet is banking on being able to meet your needs. Oh, you need a work truck that can tow and do rugged work things? There’s an electric vehicle for that, even a super luxurious version. Wait, you want performance? There’s that too, in an SUV body type so you can still do the family routine or adventure your summers away in your electric performance SUV.

Yes, three entirely different and unique electric cars are coming from Chevrolet. The 2024 Equinox SUV, Blazer SUV, and Silverado pickup truck.

The Electric Chevrolet Equinox Suits Every Budget

If you’re an urban dweller, or even have a family, the Equinox is the sensible Chevrolet and you’re going to get a great little electric car with up to 300 miles of range. With front or all-wheel drive options and plenty of luxury features like head up display and Super Cruise (advanced adaptive cruise control), heated rear seats, and front and rear USB-C ports, you can go from fine with the LT trim to fancy with the RS.

The Blazer Offers a Performance Trim, and I Want It

The Blazer is available in several trims with plenty of luxurious options. But the SS is the performance model and it’s is the one I would choose. Actually, it is now on my ‘want to buy’ list. This performance SUV goes 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds, so, ahem, there will be no issue with merging or passing as you make your way safely to and from soccer practice and fundraisers.

The SS produces 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, and Brembo performance brakes make sure you have ultimate stopping power to control this speedster and adds to its sporty looks. Yes, I just called an SUV a speedster, can you tell I can’t wait to drive this one?

The range on the Blazer is anywhere from 250 to 320 miles depending on which trim you choose, and whether you opt for front- or all-wheel drive. With the battery pack along the floor (as in all Chevrolet electric cars) offers plenty of space inside and a flat floor for maximum passenger and cargo space.

Technology wise, it gets a massive driver-focused digital driver information cluster and media screen, Google Automotive with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, one-pedal driving, available Super Cruise and head-up display.

The Blazer will start at $45,000.

Silverado: Work or Luxury? You can Have Either.

Now, if it’s a pickup truck you need to fit your life, the Silverado is here for you. The work truck variant will start at $42,000 and the luxurious RST model will set you back over six-figures.

The range on the Silverado is over 400 miles and offers 664 horsepower. It can tow up to 10,000 lbs. Chevrolet tells us a future model to come will offer up to 20,000 lbs of towing capacity!

The RST is chalk full of luxury options such as air suspension, rear-steering, a 5’11 truck bed with a mid-gate that folds down and extends that to over 10 feet of length to pop your canoe or stand-up paddleboard into. Although we didn’t get a peek, the Silverado also offers a large frunk, and I love that, as the Equinox and Blazer did not get frunks.

Of course all the same great tech is offered in the Silverado as well; the 11” driver information screen and 17” media screen is standard.

All of the Chevrolet Electrics will be available some time in 2023.

But Wait, You Want a Performance, Gas-Fueled Full-Sized SUV Instead? Chevy’s Got You.

At the Detroit Auto Show, Chevrolet revealed that the best-selling full-sized SUV, the Tahoe, is now offered in a new performance RST trim. It’s bold, it’s lowered, it’s mean-looking and it’s fast. The Tahoe will haul all of the family gear, extra kids, and do it with a satisfying growl!

A new performance induction and exhaust system increase the power of the 6.2L V8 to 433 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 13 horsepower over the current RST. This baby will put you at 60 mph in 5.78 seconds, says Chevrolet. It will be exciting to check this one out when it becomes available!

So which new Chevrolet SUV or Pickup is right for you? I don’t know if I mentioned it already, but I’m going with the Blazer EV!

Disclosure: I was a guest of Chevrolet Canada, all travel and accommodations were provided. All opinions are my own.
