You would think that Luxury Travel Mom has it all figured out: Where to go, when to go and how to get there in style and comfort. But when it comes to some things, she’s just like the rest of us.
Like trying to figure out where to put her handbag in her car.
This, it turns out, is a big conundrum, for her and for most women.
Her whole funny take on this, including a photo of the car she drove in college–priceless!– is here.
Luckily for Luxury Travel Mom and for all of us, automakers are starting to pay attention to our needs. We went to the New York Auto Show recently and found lots of great places in cars to put handbags; we, and lots of other people, took pictures of these great spots and pinned them to our Handbag Challenge Pinterest board.
Perhaps our favorite was a specially designed center console in the 2014 Toyota Highlander that was created specifically for a purse. And the great thing is: it’s not a hook, an add-on or a seemingly smart compromise that is just that–a compromise. It’s a design that integrates what we already love with what we need most: a place to put a handbag that makes it secure, safe and accessible.
Checking out where to put our purses in so many of the great cars at the NY Auto Show made for a fun time. Here are some highlights of the show; we hope this will give you some ideas for when the car show rolls around to your town or you spend a weekend car shopping. Because more and more, car makers are paying attention to their female customers and trying to solve that age old problem: where to put your handbag in your car.
