Great: Exceptional All-Wheel Drive

All-wheel drive is a great feature on any three-row crossover, but Infiniti is kicking it up a notch with its new intelligent AWD system. The company has tested this new technology on just about every terrain you could imagine, so it’s near-instantaneous response is guaranteed to give you the grip you need to navigate sand, snow, and more.

That’s because Infiniti has equipped its AWD system with a host of sensors that can predict when you might need grip before your wheels slip—which is the normal indicator that activates an AWD system. If you’ve ever felt a wheel slip while driving, you know it can be a heart-pumping experience in the worst possible way; Infiniti is trying to avoid those moments long before they happen. That’ll be especially handy if you’re driving on roads whose conditions are changing every few feet.

To  get you out of sticky situations, up to half of the Infiniti QX60’s power can be channeled right into the rear wheels to give you ultimate traction, and the car can send that power from one side to another in the event that one tire is driving on ice while the other is on dry asphalt.

Better: Greater Towing Capacity

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has an increased towing capacity compared to its predecessors: 6,000 pounds. That’s 20 percent more than before, and it’s a great number for a crossover. That’s all thanks to the 3.5-liter V-6 engine with an all-new 9-speed automatic transmission.

“We make sure to tow up to the 6,000-pound capacity. We want to make sure that the customer is confident that they can tow their travel trailer to their campsite for the weekend and not worry about their vehicle overheating,” said Heather Kniep, Infiniti’s senior project engineer at the Arizona Testing Center. “In Arizona this year, we had a record number of days over 110 degrees (Fahrenheit) and the vehicle towed with no problem. We want the customer to know that they can be confident towing with their vehicle; they’re going to have strong acceleration (and) they’re going to have confident braking. I was really impressed with how it could accelerate up hills, even at the 6,000-pound towing capacity. It had absolutely no problem.”

So if you’re moving, you have a nice camper, or you like to take your big toys for weekend adventures, the QX60 will be your perfect vehicle.

Best: Enhanced Driver Assist Technologies

This year, Infiniti is also introducing something called ProPILOT Assist, which is its name for its suite of driver assistance technologies. It’s the latest and greatest form of driver assistance in the Infiniti lineup, and it promises really great things, like:

  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Better lane detection
  • Improved braking smoothness
  • Lane centering
  • Extended stop-and-start pause in stop-and-go traffic
  • Stronger connection to navigation to help drivers modulate speed and anticipate road conditions

One Infiniti engineer referred to the ProPILOT features as a “wetsuit” because it won’t swim you to the other side of a lake, but it’ll make you feel way more comfortable and agile on the way. That is, after all, what Infiniti is all about: making the driving experience all the more enjoyable.

We’ll know all the nitty-gritty details about the 2022 Infiniti QX60 in a few months; until then, you can start getting excited with all these gorgeous teasers.
