I first fell in love with the Nissan Titan when we got to drive the all-new 2016 Titan with the Cummins Diesel engine. Then I went head-over-heels for it when I drove the Pro4X version on the off-road courses at the 2016 Texas Truck Rodeo. So, when given the opportunity to drive the 2018 Nissan Titan XD Pro4X King Cab with the Cummins diesel engine for a full week, I was elated.

Explore Your Heart Out in the 2018 Nissan Titan XD Pro
Due to the extra hot Texas summer, we’re having, we did not get a chance to take the Titan on our family’s favorite adventure… camping. But, my husband has been wanting to find a nearby access point to the Red River since we moved to the area and the river is only 3 miles away.
There are no official roads or ramps leading to the river in our neighborhood, but there are plenty of old county roads that end in dirt paths near the river, so Hubs took the boys out to explore. They had a blast getting the truck dirty and my husband said the truck handled beautifully. I’m just sad to have missed the adventure!

Whether you like to camp, rock climb, kayak, or fish, the Titan will get you there. And, its unique adjustable tie-down system is wonderful for securing all your gear.
Have small things that might get lost? The Titan Boxes built into the bed, right over the wheel wells, are the perfect place to store tools, chill drinks, or hide things you don’t want people walking off with. They lock up nice and tight and I love that they aren’t in the way or taking up valuable bed space!

It’s All About the Packages: XD and Pro4X What?
The Titan we drove this week has two add-on packages that can be purchased independently of each other or combined.
The XD package comes with a reinforced frame and upgraded towing and hauling capacity, as well as the option to upgrade to the Cummins diesel engine and an available integrated gooseneck hitch. The diesel engine gives you an additional 159 lb-ft of torque, making it better at starting up hills or pulling heavy loads. In other words, XD makes it a work truck.

The Pro4X package upgrades the off-road capabilities with better shocks and suspension for a smoother ride, skid plates to protect your radiator and fuel tank, hill start assist and descent control, all-terrain tires, and a custom interior package that’s super sporty.
Personally, I wouldn’t need either of these packages, but I’d want them for the diesel engine and the sporty look and feel. And cause I love to go out exploring…
Holy Bright Colors, Batman! This Truck is Ablaze!
I’ve driven the Titan a few times, and each time one has been delivered to my house, I’ve secretly hoped it would be Solar Flare Yellow. There is just something so fun about this two-toned paint job. You can’t help but like it!
It’s the perfect blend of rugged and fun-loving sunshine and it reminds me of a sunflower.

Available Cab Configurations on the 2018 Nissan Titan
The King Cab sounds big, right? It is. Bigger than the Single Cab. But, it’s not as big as the Crew Cab.
A single cab is just what it sounds like… no back seat. It’s a great work truck, but you won’t be using it to take the family out on adventures.
The King Cab we drove gives you the best of both worlds… you get an extended cab with a back seat that is comfortable for kids or small adults, and super handy if you need some interior cargo space.

I do like that the King Cab’s small back doors open towards the bed, and open back flat, nearly touching the bed. This makes it easy to walk past the open door, load things into the cargo area, or install a child seat. Rear seat passengers get their own cup holders, air vents and an electrical outlet, but no USB charging port.
The Crew Cab, which we’ve driven before, has 4 full-size doors and a much longer cab giving you all the legroom you could ever need in a rear seat. For our family of boys, soon to be tall young men, the Crew Cab would be our first choice.

2018 Nissan Titan Pro4X Interior Features
The Nissan Titan has a fantastic interior by default. There are multiple trim levels to choose from, but my personal favorite is the Pro4X Convenience Package. The package includes:
- Heated and cooled leather seats
- Pro4X emblems embroidered on the floor mats and seats
- Contrasting black and silver dash with multiple textures for that rugged look
- A whole host of technology add-ons like:
- Memory driver’s seat
- 4-way power passenger seat
- Adjustable telescoping steering wheel
- Auto-dimming mirrors
- Add-on a wireless charging spot for your mobile devices.
Normally I’m a cloth seat kind of girl when it comes to trucks, cause I like not worrying about scratching the leather, and I prefer not to burn my thighs on a hot summer day. But, it’s been pretty hot all week and not once have I burnt myself on these seats! I don’t know if it’s the perforated leather or the window tint, but I actually love these black leather seats!

When it comes to details, I’m a bit of a fangirl. I love the tiny little things that manufacturers think of to make a vehicle extra awesome. One that really caught my eye on the Titan was the seat belt buckle strap in the back seat. I can’t count how many times I’ve flipped up a rear seat, then had to go hunting for the buckles when I put the seat back down cause they’d gotten lost down in that crack!
