Why the Luxury-Filled 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone Crewmax Should be Your Next Pickup Truck
The luxury truck of your dreams awaits.
Not only is the 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone, priced at about $73,000, a looker, but it’s a great conversation starter. At my son’s football game, I had multiple parents and coaches ask to take a peak inside the truck and mention what a beautiful ride it was. It was an easy way for me to meet all the parents and make quick friends!

What’s New for the 2022 Toyota Tundra?
The total redesign of the Tundra offers versions ranging from entry level to off-road adventure to tough-as-nails work truck. It also comes in a classy and luxurious Capstone edition. Even when fully loaded, it handles the road like a champ. My husband mentioned multiple times that the Toyota Tundra is on the top of his list for his next vehicle purchase. Is it bad that I secretly wish his car breaks down soon and he will purchase this truck?
The Tundra Capstone has plush, two-toned seats, lights along the inside that give off a romantic glow, a large multimedia screen and a panoramic sunroof. It’s easy to see that this truck was made for more than work. Sure, this truck can also handle big hauls and a heavy-duty workload, but when you see how beautiful the interior is, you will want to ditch the work boots for high heels.

Sleek Design Had me Looking Twice at the Tundra Capstone
To me, this truck is deceiving. From the outside, it looks more like a mid-size truck and is low to the ground. But once I climbed up in the cab, I realized I was wrong. The cabin is spacious. It sits high up with 8.5″ of ground clearance, and the interior is what my truck dreams are made of.
Plus, it has a large rear window that makes the cabin feel larger. The rear window fully opens with the push of a button; with the other windows open, it feels almost like a convertible!
The center console is well appointed and can easily fit a medium size handbag, laptop and more. However, the back row does not have under-seat storage. This is where the hybrid battery is located. But when needing extra cargo space, the seats fold up to create a larger storage area.
The cabin stands out with the soft black and white leather interior with walnut trim. The oversized door armrests, large buttons on the steering wheel, and the ability to adjust everything on the dash gauge cluster make this vehicle all about comfort and ease without having to take your eyes off the road. At night, you can relax with the blue ambient interior lighting and the heated and cooled front and rear seats. This full-size truck sits on 22-inch wheels and is notable for its large front grille and chrome accents.
The automatic running boards and bedside steps make it a breeze to get in and out of the vehicle. The bed features adjustable bedrails that can easily be moved based on what needs to be tied down. Along with LED bed lights, power outlet and electronic slow lower tailgate, this also makes this a fantastic work truck.

I’m Especially Enamored with the Tundra’s Hybrid V-6
With the ridiculous cost of gas these days, having a hybrid truck is an efficient option. Drivers average 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
The twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 iForce MAX hybrid engine with a 10-speed transmission, which produces 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque packs a punch. You push the pedal down and this truck takes off like a muscle car.

Advanced Technology
The 14-inch multimedia system has Toyota’s voice assistant. Just say “Hey Toyota,” and the assistant is there to help. Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 10-inch color head-up display are a few of the features that come standard on Capstone. It also features a 12-speaker JBL sound system and acoustic glass on the front doors that will have you thinking you have a voice like an angel.
The technology features also include a wireless phone charger, USB-C charge port, and standard USB ports and can simultaneously connect two phones via Bluetooth.
Cooling seats with a kick
These seats are truly air-conditioned/ventilated seats where you can feel the air blowing on your backside and your hair blowing in the wind. This is a feature I never knew I needed until now. Gone are the days of your thighs sticking to the leather seats.

What this truck costs
You may gasp at the price of this truck. But for $77,000 you are getting everything a truck has to offer. This pickup delivers a luxury experience and is worth every dime.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone Crewmax I drove is $73,530. However, with the added optional equipment in the truck I drove, the price runs $77,339.
This truck comes as a CrewMax 4-door cab, 5.5-foot bed with a 120-volt power outlet that is fully loaded with all the features that Toyota offers.
