There are some people who bound into life unabashed, focused on what they love, what delights and intrigues them and surround themselves with people and experiences that keep the pipeline full.

Myriam Joire is one of those people. She’s unconventional, curious and creative; she’s effusive about what she’s learned and will share all she knows about cars and technology.

For all that she should be proud, but that word means a lot more to her. As a member of the LGBTQ community, Myriam pushes past staid expectations and boundaries designed to restrain.

No one should have to fight for the right to work because of something that has nothing to do with work, and yet, we do. If we get to fight less, it’s thanks to people like Myriam who challenge the status quo and then satisfy the argument with great work.

We are lucky to have her filling our site with insight and intelligence, but you’ll also find her over on Instagram, on her Mobile Tech Podcast and at TechRadar, Gear Diary and Forbes, among others.

This story is 100% human-researched and written based on actual first-person knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise on the subject of cars and trucks.

Go Home, Chrome: Black Details Define Car Chic

It’s something we’ve loved for a while now: blacked out details on our cars. Glossy (or matte) black wheels, grilles, lower bumpers, side mirror caps and even black frames around the windows. The sum total is a chic look that lends a more sophisticated and even athletic look and feel.

We started to see blackout packages, often with name like ‘night,’ ‘black line,’ ‘shadow’ or ‘midnight,’ and they add a crisp, designed feel to a car, allowing its more premium features and design details to really stand out.

Our newest writer, Corliss Deionn, takes a look at the different treatments and how they can take a good car and make it look so much better.

Grab a Coffee and Get to Know  Claudia  Márquez,  Hyundai COO—It’s Must Listen Until the End

Claudia Márquez What Drives Her Podcast

It’s been amazing to watch Claudia Márquez rise in the automotive world. We first heard her name when she was the president of Hyundai Mexico after leading sales for BMW Mexico. But soon, she was leading operations for Genesis North America, a brand that seemed such a good fit for her: Stylish, confident and redefining the world of luxury cars. But Claudia’s talents needed a bigger stage and not long ago she became the chief operating officer of Hyundai North America.

It was our good luck to have followed her career; it meant we got to sit down with her to talk about the brand, the challenges and her career for our podcast (which you can subscribe to here). And, she tells us why she got coffee for an arrogant colleague and what happened next. You have to listen to this. So grab a cup of your own and settle in for a good story.

This is What Car Shopping Should Be, and We Owe Thanks to Rivian

If you’re wary of pushy salesmen, dusty showrooms and experiences that range from uninteresting to downright scary, Rivian gets you. So,  they’re rolling out a whole new retail environment that reflects the Rivian lifestyle, with fun learning experiences, boutique-like settings for gear and accessories, and play spaces that might tempt you to play with your kids instead of shopping.

And then there’s the test drive: A mini-adventure to a local destination that allows buyers to really immerse in the Rivian in-car and on road experience. That part is especially novel, and welcome.
Kim Smith took a look around the flagship Rivian Space in New York City and tells us what it’s all about.

Over the last year we’ve spent a lot of time in Bentley models, and for good reason: The eloquent, bespoke brand has taken on a new pulse, upgrading its models with tech and more power, offering new options and creating even dreamier dream cars. Spending time in the new Bentley Continental showed us just how delightful the future can be, but there’s more: In the coming weeks we’ll have more on the Bentayga SUV, the Flying Spur and other gems from the Bentley world. To get you in the mood, take a test drive with me in the redesigned Continental GTC.
