Go Home Chrome: Blacked Out Car Accents Deliver Chic, Stealth Luxury
Nothing brings out luxury like a matte or shiny black finish, giving even affordable cars a polished, luxe look.

Back in the day, a car plastered in chrome accenting spelled out “luxury,” as if it was glowing from a blinking neon sign. Like makeup, it was used to accentuate beauty that was already there. White wall tires and wire wheels completed the image. Now, nothing complements a car’s angles and curves quite like matte or glossy black wheels, black grilles, roofs, side view mirrors or other accents.
It’s been my favorite look since I was a teen: Blacked out rims, charcoal grilles, exterior bits like the door handles, wheel wells and badges can be blacked out, too. Sedans, trucks, SUVs, and EVs, regardless of the paint color, all look good with blacked out packages.
On off-roaders, it can help a car look more rugged and tough. On luxury or sports cars it can add a stealth element to make it look sleeker. More and more manufacturers are adding blacked out package options on your favorite car. So, instead of having to spend a lot on aftermarket exterior and interior accents or wheels, you can get them straight from the factory.

The Carbon Fiber Lexus IS 350 F Sport is Sharp, Sleek, and Chic

If your car collection were a closet, the Lexus IS 350 F Sport is the tailored black leather blazer. It’s a staple. Officially known as the limited ‘Carbon Fiber Sport’, this blacked-out package is sleek, timeless, and instantly upgrades the appearance. The IS 350 F Sport is the perfect blend of reliability, performance, style, and luxury, combined with a powerful and responsive 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 260 horsepower
It may appear to have a compact exterior, but my tall friends would be surprised at the surprising amount of legroom in the front and backseats. The choice to add the blackout package onto the sport edition of the IS 350 can’t be coincidental; the Sport is known for its handling, how it grips the road, the way it reacts to a slight shift in the steering wheel, and it’s a steady ride even at high speeds.
In order to add the Carbon Fiber blackout package, adding the handling package is a requirement, so with both packages, you will end up at $53,020. For this blacked out car, the package includes matte black 19-inch alloy wheels from BBS, black outside mirrors, and dark chrome window trim. By combining the handling and blackout packages, Lexus makes sure that the exterior sporty exterior matches the sporty performance.
Lexus Also Adds Black to the Rugged Yet Elegant LX 600 and 700h

The 2025 LX 600 Luxury trim is truly for the versatile woman. The off-roader, the socialite, the mom of 5, or the blacked out car enthusiast. Lexus thought about the whole person when they designed this car. Every trim seats up to 7, and every trim has off-roading capabilities.
There’s something for everyone: the woman who likes to sit in the lap of luxury, the mom on after-school activity pickup duty, and the adventurer. The 2025 Lexus LX 600 and the hybrid version (LX 700h) both come with blackout-esque appearance packages.
For an additional $1,295, the Appearance Package includes a matte grey grille, black outside door handles, mirrors, and window trim, bringing you to a total of $117,925. On the Overtrail+ edition, by default, you get matte black wheels, too. This package is available on certain trims, including the LX 600 Premium, LX 600 Luxury, and the LX 700h Luxury.
For exterior features, regardless of the trim, this car has a plethora of benefits for colder climates like heated outside mirrors, window wiper de-icer, power rear door kick sensor (for when you want to just run in the car during freezing cold temperatures), and headlight washers. With black tint, ventilated front seats, and a cool box, this SUV will keep you cool this summer and warm next winter.

Black-Out Packages Look Great on Trucks, Too

No one necessarily buys a truck expecting it to be luxurious. So, this is where a blacked out package can also accentuate a truck’s looks. Sort of like the difference between eyeliner worn on the red carpet versus the singer of a punk or metal band. Both are bold styles that bring their own vibe to a look.
That’s exactly what’s happening on the Ram 1500 Night Edition. On the Lexuses, the blacked out appearance package brought out the sleek, sporty, and elegant look of both body styles. On trucks, it makes it look tougher.
For 2025, RAM offers the Night Edition on the Big Horn trim. The blacked out grille badge is one you can’t miss, along with exterior blacked out badges, black interior accents, and exhaust tips all mounted on blacked out wheels. The Night Edition will run you $45,119.
With a truck that looks as tough as it is, you will officially be the friend who gets that text, “Hey…can you pick up some furniture from IKEA for me?” You’ve been warned. If you camp, hike, bike, tailgate, or frequent your local home and garden store, this pickup truck may be your new bestie because it checks all of the boxes.

The Audi Q3 is Better With Black

The Q3 Premium is clean, classy, and subtle, but the Black Optic Plus package adds on matte titanium 19-inch rims, black roof rails, and black exterior trim, giving it a little boost for a total of $45,895. It’s the perfect city car, just enough to navigate busy streets, parallel park into tight spots, and safely weave in and out of traffic.
If you’re not so concerned about a classic or polished look and prefer a bit of edge with matte titanium 19-inch rims, black roof rails, and black exterior trim, the Black Optic Package Plus may be right up your alley. Edgy accessories, a cute bodystyle – the perfect blend. If you were hoping for black wheels, though, Audi doesn’t offer them with the Black Optic Plus.
For that, you’d have to shop aftermarket, and there are plenty of viable, attractive options to choose from.

The Honda Pilot Black Edition is Ready for Take-Off

Equipped with 3 rows, known for its dependability and holding its value, Honda is always a good choice. Imagine school drop-offs and pickups or playing chauffeur to and from the kids’ extracurricular activities. There’s a certain woman who balances family life and maintains her edge. This is her car.
The Black Edition helps shake that up by adding a bit of spice to everyday tasks. Exterior features on the Black Edition include 20-inch glossy black rims, blacked out side mirrors, and “Black Edition” badges on the grille and tailgate. If you buy the Pilot with black paint, it’s hard to believe you’re driving a Honda and not an undercover police car.
The Black Edition is the only trim that includes red stitching throughout the cabin, on the seats, steering wheel, and door panels. Red accent lines trace the dash, doors, and the center console, adding a unique and exclusive touch for the Night trim.

A Statement of Tactical, All-Black Luxury – The G 550 SUV

The ultimate statement piece. The best of both worlds. Created to be an off-road vehicle in the military, the Mercedes-Benz G Wagen’s blackout package, the G Professional package, screams luxury while maintaining its militaristic look. It’s the G Wagen we all know and love: attention-grabbing, unique, and somewhat of a rare sighting.
Don’t be fooled by the rugged exterior; once you get inside, it still screams Mercedes-Benz luxury. The G 550 has several blacked-out car package options, with the G Professional Package being at the top of the line, adding on an additional $14,300 for a total of $169,000.
The concealed spare tire ring that we all know is nonexistent with the G Professional Package; this edition’s spare tire is exposed. Matte black 18-inch wheels, black star emblems, and black arches. The G Professional has an interior cherry wood luggage compartment floor, but if the trunk space is insufficient, this trim comes with a ladder so you can climb your way to the roof rack for additional storage.

One of the first words that comes to mind when I think of Infiniti is elegance. The 2025 QX60 Luxe Trim Black Edition tacks on 20-inch wheels with a glossy black finish, black roof rails, and badging. The Black edition can’t outshine the curvy, sculpted silhouette that Infiniti is known for, but it certainly complements its class.

For an additional $1,900, you can add on a bit of edge while remaining refined for a grand total of $60,745.
