The New Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is the Most Powerful, and Perhaps Most Exclusive, Ragtop on the Road

Aston Martin fans know: the Aston Martin Vanquish is the iconic two-seat sports coupe that sets the standard for all other sports coupes. With V12 power and sleek, bullet-like proportions, it’s one of the things that makes James Bond so irresistible.
So fans shed more than a few tears in 2018 when Aston Martin ended production of this ultra-luxury car and its convertible sibling, the Vanquish Volante.
Until now, that is. In September, Aston Martin announced the return of the Vanquish and today, the company revealed the return of the Volante.
We got an early look at this $469,000 masterpiece that, for just a bit more can be even more bespoke and a car that is uniquely your own.
This story is 100% human researched and written based on actual first-person knowledge, extensive experience and expertise on the subject of cars and trucks.
Aston Martin Vanquish Volante: The New Standard for Sports Convertibles

From James Bond to dreams of castles and countrysides, Aston Martin embodies all that is continental and elevated. The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, even more. But this model carries another signifier that is both distinguished and iconic: V12 power. In an era when most super cars now carry some level of electrification, the Vanquish does not; it relies on a twin turbo V12 engine that delivers 823 HP, 738 lb.-ft of torque and a zero-60 MPH performance said to be 3.2 seconds.
Inside, All the Aston Martin Deliciousness

As we saw in the recently renovated Aston Martin DB12, the brand’s approach to interiors is both beautiful and evocative of a jet plane. Switches and controls are at hand on the center console for seats—heaters will be especially handy in the Volante in winter—for both driver and passenger.
The overall cabin design, however, is calming and elegant, with layers of materials designed to delight you—when the landscape fails to do so, that is.

The Vanquish Volante Starts with Jewelry and Encompasses F1 Details

The hood of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is notable for two things: The bespoke winged badge, an enameled piece made by British jeweler Vaughtons, and the louvered air vents at the center of the hood, details derived from Aston Martin’s experience in F1 racing. Together the effect lends to the model’s name, Volante, which means “to fly,” and even standing still, it feels as if it’s about to take flight.

Modern New Headlights Frame the Vanquish Volante’s Face

With the redesign of the Aston Martin Vanquish, the company gave the coupe a new look and modern new headlights. Maintaining the sculpted form of lights inset into the overall shape of the front end, the new lights carry a horizontal look to frame the cube LED lights at the center. The look creates a new signature for Vanquish, and Vanquish Volante.
A New Tail Light Icongraphy That Also Evokes F1

Playing on the visual look of the louvers on the hood, the tail lights on the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante are a departure from those of the past, framing the rear of the car with a fluted look that also adds to the car’s aerodynamics.
Layers of Leather and Bespoke Details Add to the Experience

One of the charms of Aston Martin ownership is the ability to completely customize your car. Q by Aston Martin takes that idea further, allowing buyers to completely personalize a car, even adding one-of-a-kind paints and finishes. From embroidered head rests, seen here with the Aston Martin crest, to layered leathers from Bridge of Weir in dozens of colors and hundreds of paint colors and finishes, the end result can be a true work of art.
The ability to personalize a commission is growing; 60% of buyers of the Aston Martin Valhalla chose Q customization options.
A Driver-Centric Cabin Puts You At One with the Road

All that power under the hood takes a bit of attention to command, and that is the intention of the design of the driver’s seat. Steering wheel controls, drive modes and a digital driver display allow you to firmly grip the lovely leather of the steering wheel.
Working alongside the driver is the newly-engineered suspension and construction of the Volante, designed to be stronger and more capable, a necessity for the most powerful convertible on the road.
A Private Viewing? Yes, for Some Buyers

This might be the best part of buying an Aston Martin: the opportunity to see it before the rest of the world via a private viewing at Q by Aston Martin, the brand’s design studio and showroom in New York City.
There, not only can buyers get an early look at a new model, but they can sit with a designer and customize their design, even commissioning unique colors and combinations of finishes and materials. As the design comes together, it can be viewed on a 35′ screen that allows not only a life-size view of the car, but also close-up looks at details such as stitching and the texture of the leather.
An Icon Worth Dreaming Of

The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is a car of a lifetime, and the company wants you to dream about it, or any of their other cars. So they’ve made the Q by Aston Martin showroom in New York City open to the public. General manager Lisa Anastas showed us around the space where the DBX 707, the DB 12 and the Valhalla supercar on display.
And then when you’re ready, come in and design your own Aston Martin. Or, for buyers who want an exclusive early peek at their next model—you’ll have to sign an NDA—and commission the car of a lifetime that will be the envy of everyone.
