Classic, lustrous, strong. Like you!
December 15th is National Wear your Pearls Day. While it may seem like just another silly national day or hashtag, it has a pretty deep meaning behind it. The holiday was founded by author and motivational speaker, DeAnna Bookert and it is the celebration of the beauty of life. She founded the day because of her own personal experience with depression.
“I wear pearls as a reminder that I have purpose and value,” DeAnna Bookert said.

A Deeper Meaning
The pearls are a comparison to our lives. The pearls symbolize beauty and strength, qualities that we as women possess. Pearls, like women, come in all shapes, sizes, and color. Our beauty does not only come from the outside, but from within. Through learning, growing, and living. Each of those things makes us shine brighter- similar to the process of a pearl which starts off dusty forms through a long process.

Everyday Pearls – and Pearl Paint– Beautify our Lives
We find pearls everywhere – on cupcakes and birthday cards, as trim on sweaters and jeans, in the wisdom of our elders and our children. And, on cars. One of our favorite colors is pearl white.
The reason we love to wear pearls is the light they reflect on us. It’s the same with a car; the pearlized paint reflects the light. There are different types of white paint; flat white, snow white but the best is always pearl white. And, the pearlized paint is so beautiful we often find the pearl effect used in other colors such as red, blue and brown.
