5 Reasons We’re Excited For the Chrysler Pacifica’s Redesign and Updates for 2027

The Chrysler Pacifica is finally getting a well-deserved, timely, and important redesign and overhaul for 2027. Here's why we're so excited for it.

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is about to be one of five minivans available (we now count the VW ID.Buzz), and as of right now, it’s still the only PHEV minivan you can buy. It’s Chrysler’s only car in production, which tells us how important it is to Chrysler to get it right. And for many years, they did. But with competitors rolling out new hybrid systems, updated interiors, added tech, and more value‑focused packaging, the Pacifica is starting to feel overdue for a well‑deserved refresh.

Well, I have good news for the busy families who have tons of kids and gear to haul around: the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is finally getting a long‑awaited makeover. This is the biggest development in minivan news in years. Chrysler has already previewed an off‑road‑leaning concept (which would go head‑to‑head with the Sienna Woodland) and confirmed it’s canning the PHEV powertrain in favor of a V6 like the Odyssey, all wrapped in a gorgeous, more modern design direction. If the production model delivers on even half of what’s been teased, we’re going to be very excited to get behind the wheel.

Here are four reasons we’re excited, and why you should be excited, too.

When Will the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Come Out?

Chrysler hasn’t announced an exact on‑sale date yet, but the refreshed 2027 Chrysler Pacifica is expected to arrive at dealerships sometime in late 2026, following a full reveal earlier in the year. That timing lines up with Stellantis’ typical product‑cycle cadence and gives Chrysler enough runway to transition from the current model year into the updated lineup without overlap.

For families planning ahead—especially those waving goodbye to the PHEV powertrain and saying hello to the 3.6-liter V6 or the potential off‑road‑leaning variant—the back half of 2026 is when this new Pacifica should start showing up on lots.

1. It’s Time for a New Look

The New Face Of The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica

The new Chrysler Pacifica is getting a new face, and it’s about time, since it hasn’t been to the salon since 2021. It’s finally time to stand out with a fresh style that makes people in the drop-off line do a double-take. The Pacifica has piano key LED lighting that frames the grille, which gives the Pacifica a cleaner, more contemporary face. It’s a big step forward from the last facelift, with sharper lines, a more sculpted front end, and a design language that feels more aligned with Chrysler’s future EV‑leaning identity.

Sadly, the interior hasn’t been revealed. But you can get the updated Pacifica this summer in 2026. It will have Blue Agave Nappa Leather upholstery with copper accents. Plus, it’s getting new paint colors and wheel designs. Don’t worry, it’s keeping its famous ‘Stow-in-Go’ seating to get pesky seats out of the way when you need more storage space.

2. Pricing Has Been Updated—In a Big Way

In a market where nearly everything seems to get more expensive every year, Chrysler is doing something rare: lowering prices across the lineup while keeping the features families rely on most. Whether you’re shopping for an affordable entry point or eyeing the top‑tier Pinnacle, the new pricing makes the Pacifica more competitive and more accessible than it’s been in years.

Here’s a quick, easy way to break it down:

  • New base model (Pacifica LX FWD) starts at $41,495. This replaces the outgoing Voyager and is $1,895 less.
  • Every trim—yes, every trim—is $1,895 cheaper than in 2026, except the top-shelf Pinnacle, which drops by $3,180.

The Select AWD is priced at $47,890 for the new model, and the Pinnacle AWD has a price of $58,255, so those two trims are both cheaper by $1,895 and $3,180, respectively.

3. The Chrysler Pacifica Gets New Tech

A Touch Screen In The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica

Gosh, aren’t y’all ready for bigger screens and better camera views? While the Chrysler Pacifica already has a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a lot has happened with automotive screens during the past five years. Expect a new Uconnect Theater and Family Tech package. The current setup has dual 10.1-inch touchscreen displays with the ability to stream TV shows and movies. Interior photos haven’t been revealed, but based on the current model, the 2027 model has pretty big shoes (or tires) to fill.

These are now separated into standalone packages, making it easier for families to pick the entertainment or tech features they want without bundling. Other than that, I feel like there’s some tech that’s going to blow our minds and make road trips easier. More power outlets in each row are just the beginning of what has yet to be revealed, too.

4. No PHEV This Time, But Maybe a Standard Hybrid?

I loved the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV. The plug-in hybrid model was discontinued, but it was so efficient and fun. The regenerative brakes are insanely good at recharging the battery for more electric range. My coworker, Holli Fourniquet, shared in her review, “This does make the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid a great minivan for commuting, using those 32 miles of electric power before gas is needed. This is something a non-plug-in hybrid can’t claim.”

But for now, it’s expected to debut with its current gas-only engine. Currently, this engine gets an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway. The new Jeep Cherokee has a hybrid engine, though. So does the Toyota Sienna. I’d be willing to bet this week’s lunch money that something is in the works.

5. The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Is Getting Safer

The Chrysler Pacifica is renowned for its safety. Features such as blind-spot warning, forward collision warning, and front and rear parking sensors already make an incredible difference.

Now the 2027 Pacifica flexes with Turn-Signal activated Blind Spot View and ParkSense-based Camera Activation. So, you’ll be able to see your blind spot when you hit the blinker, and the parking camera automatically will turn on when you start to park!

Refresh Aside, The Chrysler Pacifica Still Offers a Lot

You won’t find any tired jokes about minivans being lame or boring here. Beyoncé drives a Chrysler Pacifica, so let’s be honest—this thing has more street cred than half the crossovers fighting for space in the school‑pickup lane. The only people who hate minivans are the ones who’ve never actually lived with one.

We don’t know a whole lot about the new Pacifica, but here’s what we do know, based on the current model: across the lineup, Chrysler continues to pack in thoughtful touches. A height‑adjustable power liftgate is now standard on every trim, making it easier for kids (and shorter adults) to open and close the rear hatch. The top‑spec Pinnacle trim reaches $60,250, but it earns that price with quilted leather, second‑row captain’s chairs, and one of the most comfortable, upscale interiors in the segment.

And for families who deal with snow, rain, or gravel roads, all‑wheel drive remains available—something not every minivan can claim. Add in the Pacifica’s famously smooth ride, flexible seating, and cavernous cargo space, and it’s clear that even without the upcoming redesign, this minivan still checks a lot of boxes for busy households.
