The Buick Enclave Avenir is no longer your grandmother’s car.

For the past several years Buick has been hard at work, redesigning their vehicles for the younger generation. In 2016, I got to drive a Buick Enclave and because of my review, my Dad went out and bought one. He’s owned three of them now in addition to a fleet of four or five other Buicks between him, my mom and my youngest siblings. After the Enclave made such an impression I was interested to see what the 2020 Buick Enclave Avenir would be like—and I fell in love all over again.

There’s so much to love about these cars, but I’ve narrowed it down to five of the best features that will revolutionize your view of Buick and make you fall in love with this car.

1. Grown-up Dashboard

The interior is a treat. We really liked the way the dash was designed, with lines that flowed effortlessly all the way across, and the way the touch screen and climate controls all felt like they belonged exactly where they were rather than crammed into a space. You can definitely tell the folks at Buick put a lot of thought into what they wanted the Buick Enclave Avenir to convey, and the answer is simple: sophistication, plain and simple.

2. Comfort for Every Passenger

Massaging driver and passenger seats come standard on the Avenir. (Yes, please!) The kids were pretty tickled to have heated seats and their own climate controls in the second row. And while I haven’t driven any other 2020 Enclave so I can’t compare them, the leather seats in this Enclave Avenir felt especially buttery and glamourous… even in the back seat. Just don’t be surprised if your kids start feeling like you’re their chauffeur!

3. Room for a Convertible Carseat

When you have a toddler in a bulky convertible seat, you often have to install the seat behind the shortest front passenger. My husband is tall and drives when we go places as a family. We rarely put the baby behind the driver’s seat. In the Enclave, we could! That’s such a blessing, since it allows me to more easily check on her and meet her needs.

4. A Whole Lot Fancier

When my brother saw this Enclave he said, “It looks like Dad’s, only a lot fancier!” And he was right. There is just something really classy about the Avenir appearance package, from the body-matching lower panel on the exterior to subtle touches of chrome.

5. Incredible Cargo Space

A lot of CUVs have a super tiny cargo space behind the third row, which means you can’t fit much back there. The Enclave is so roomy! I would be able to fit all of our groceries behind the 3rd row no problem!

There are lots of three-row CUVs on the market and while some are similar in size and passenger capacity, I can’t think of one that compares to the smooth, quiet ride of the Buick Enclave Avenir. Not until you get to the luxury vehicle category that it is, and then the prices aren’t comparable. Starting at $53,800, this is a family-friendly ride you’ll love.
