More Standard Features Keep You Comfortable and Confident on the Road.

Whoever said sedans are going the way of the telephone booth hasn’t driven a Cadillac lately. Clearly, these sport-tuned sedans with race-tested engines are popular with drivers who love performance. Just look at the numbers: Cadillac is having a great year with sales of the CT5 doing particularly well, up 35.6% in the U.S. and 27.7% globally, according to Cadillac’s Global VP John Roth.

Well, those numbers might climb even higher now. The company just introduced a “refreshed and more advanced” version of the CT5 for 2025 at the Detroit Auto Show — its  new look and popular features added from the Escalade, and a more driver-focused design that makes it more luxurious than ever.

“CT5’s importance in Cadillac’s portfolio cannot be overstated,” Roth said. And it’s been updated to stay true to what its owners love while bringing a refined look and the latest technology and safety features. These include details first seen in the Escalade, such as the wide multimedia touch screen that spans the dash, the Google operating system with “Hey Google” voice activated assistance and marquee options like Super Cruise hands free driving.

So what else is new for the 2025 Cadillac CT5?

It’s an Eye-Catcher

If you’re a sucker for a pretty face, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 might just steal your heart.

The first thing you’ll notice is its bolder front-end design, which the company says “complements its dramatic fastback profile.” But it’s still all Cadillac; it maintains the family resemblance, but with a lower and more toned front grille and stacked LED headlights. In the CT5 Sport trim it has an even more aggressive-looking black mesh grille with black details.

CT5 Now Has Two New Color Choices

The design team also added two new exterior colors to the lineup: Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic. Designer Candice Willett says that Deep Space Metallic is inspired by “elements of nature with inexplicable detail or depth,” such as the ocean.

“The play of dark-blue pigments balanced with refined metallics brings a luxurious travel of color to this exterior paint,” Willett said.

The second color, Typhoon Metallic, is inspired by “the vast colors of waves crashing on the shore during a tropical storm.”

The description alone should be enough to pique your curiosity.

A Driver Focused Cockpit

It’s that hand-in-glove, horse-and-rider feel that captivates you when you slip into a car like this. Cadillac continues to double down on these efforts to provide a driver-focused environment that would allow the driver to stay focused on the road.

CT5 Chief Engineer Alex MacDonald called this Cadillac’s “most driver-centric cockpit yet.” A massive 33-inch-diagonal LED color touchscreen display with crystal-clear 9k resolution runs continuously across the dashboard and curves toward the driver. The user interface is also customizable, so you can focus on navigation, street driving or anything else you want without diverting attention from the road in front of you. Add to it controls, including the joystick-inspired gear selector that fits right into the palm of your hand, and everything is at your fingertips.

Modern, Top-Notch Tech Keeps the CT5 Fresh

Cadillac is also excited about the new tech in the CT5, which will appeal to a younger, future-focused driver. The CT5 will have Google built-in compatibility, “Hey Google!” voice assistance, Google Maps, Google Play, Amazon Alexa and a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot.

The goal in the CT5 was to “take it even further,” MacDonald said, and to add to the driving spirit and comfort.

Other tech and safety features include:

  • Hands-free, voice activated communication
  • Live traffic updates
  • Apps including podcasts, news, music, and more
  • OnStar (OnStar remote access is included for three years)
  • Super Cruise (an available option)
  • Blind zone steering assist
  • Intersection automatic emergency braking
  • Traffic sign recognition and intelligent speed assist, which adapts to the speed limit (an available option)
  • Driver attention assist (like you’ll fall asleep driving this car!)

Designed to Be an Uncompromising Driving Experience

Like most sports cars, the CT5 is rear wheel drive. Cadillac says this is to offer “uncompromising performance,” and is testament to the company’s philosophy of “isolated precision.” This means you get a quiet, smooth and effortless interaction with the car. All these details enhance the engine and drive options, which have not changed from the introduction of the CT5 in 2020. Those include:

  • A standard 2.0-liter turbo engine with 237 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque with dual exhaust tips
  • An available 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine with 335 horsepower and 405 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Available all-wheel drive, so you can travel confidently in any conditions
  • A drive modes that include tour, sport, snow/ice and a customizable mode
