Which Bespoke Vehicle is Best For You?
If your budget wasn’t an issue and you were able to customize your own car which car, would you choose?
Would you even know where to start with a bespoke vehicle? One that not only is custom designed for you but one that is only made just for the end-user and cannot be picked off a dealership lot? It’s a dream for a lot of car owners, and if you have to choose a luxury brand what would be the better option?
While at BMW Test Fest we were able to test out the lastest cars from the BMW Group including Rolls-Royce, Mini Cooper and BMW. While driving some of the newest luxury cars on the market – we started to wonder which would be our top pick for a bespoke car if we could choose any car we wanted.
Meet the Rolls Royce Cullinan
The first contender is the 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan. While it has an outward appearance of the traditional chauffeur car, the interior is perfectly suited for comfort. The Cullinan allows you to choose whatever color you want for your interior and an accent color including the pin stripe on the outside.
Just how much is customized in the bespoke package? The Cullinan offers a standard retail package starting at $325,000 but adding on the bespoke appointments your price will go up with every option you choose. Customization is available on your signature key, an extended veneer center line and fascia, heated passenger surrounds, bespoke clocks, uplit Spirit of Ecstasy, Spirit of Ecstasy embossed doors, Commision collection umbrella, RR monogram on the headrests, contrasting seat piping, stitching, picnic tables, lambswool foot mats, bespoke audio and more.
With all of these customizations, you may think that the car is completely stodgy and something you would expect to see someone in a top hat driving. But they combine to give you a luxurious ride, materials that mostly hug you in comfort as you enjoy your ride. The leather inside the Cullinan come from a special bull that has unblemished skin, while your feet sit on floor mats that are made with hand selected lambswool. Your custom accent color matches perfectly with the wood accents inside and each material is made to be a feast to the senses.
Every detail is thought of for the passenger and the driver of the Cullinan. From crystal glasses and decanters waiting for your next celebration. Passenger control of the climate, music and more with a control pad and seats to make sure you have the most enjoyable ride of your life. And your comfort doesn’t end when you step out of the vehicle, you won’t get caught out in the rain since the Cullinan has an umbrella stored and ready for you just when you need it.
The 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan comes in at $420,630 and gets an average of 14 miles to the gallon.

For a Step Above Check out the Black Badge
If the 2019 Cullinan wasn’t enough for you and didn’t offer enough for your dream bespoke vehicle, Rolls-Royce just unveiled their 2020 Cullinan to their Black Badge collection, offering even more options and something that hasn’t been done with the Cullinan before.
What is the Black Badge? It’s a special line of Rolls-Royce vehicles with even more touches of luxury. The traditional Rolls-Royce logo is inverted to make a black background and The Spirit of Ecstasy is also made in a black metal setting it apart from the original model. This touch is scene throughout the interior as well, including the infinity symbol that is used in their branding.
Expect the cooled compartment to have your chilled champagne flutes and drinks waiting for you. An interior with more color options and even more touches of luxury. While you can customize any of your Cullinans, the Black Badge promises “Every last element, designed with unrelenting perfection.”
Do you think that the Cullinan is just another car? It’s ready to take you wherever you want to go including your favorite game or off to a picnic. Hidden in the back of the trunk space is a button that you hold down and it brings out a set of chairs that match your interior as well as a table. Perfect for going to the next Big Ten game, or for a romantic moment to watch the sunset with the one you love.
Do You Have What it Takes to drive a Rolls-Royce?
The BMW Alpina B7 Shines
At a more than half the price of the Cullinan is one of BMW’s best-kept secrets – their own bespoke model the Alpina. The 2020 BMW Alpina B7 is a customizable vehicle that you can pick out the luxury comforts you want. The outward appearance of the Alpina exudes luxury, but is understated and hides just what luxuries hide inside.
The Alpina B7 offers a smooth ride that everyone will enjoy, but even on a long ride, it makes sure it keeps everyone as comfortable as possible. Not only can you expect massaging and heated seats, but you have the option to use the privacy screens as well. Although the Alpina is a luxury vehicle that is fit for a family, it could easily be a chauffeur car as well with a lesser obstenation appearance when you first see it.
The Nappa leather interior is used throughout accented with the Alpina wood panels. Both rear passenger seats recline and the center console pulls down to reveal a touch screen control center. This gives passengers the ability to control their comfort level, the temperature, the radio and more.
Although the interior materials are luxurious, the Alpina gives drivers a more relatable interior. It has a similar layout to other BMW models and transitioning to the Alpina will be easy for drivers. The 2020 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive we drove has a suggested retail price of $153,195 and gets 20 miles to the gallon.

Which is the Better Bespoke Vehicle?
So if you had to choose between the Rolls-Royce Cullinan or the Alpina B7 which is the better choice? There really isn’t a clear winner, and it would be dependant on what you plan on doing with the vehicle or what you are looking for. For the price point, the BMW Alpina B7 is a great option for the luxury family vehicle and the Cullinan is the ultimate vehicle for being driven around. Both feel like you’re driving on a cloud, but much like customizing your bespoke vehicle – it’s all comes down to choice.
