USED: 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van: The Ultimate People Mover
What kind of person actually requests to write a Mercedes Sprinter passenger van review?
A girl who is planning to spend the week at the beach with a total of 14 family members, that’s who!
As the oldest of eight kids, I grew up pretty familiar with large vehicles. In fact, I learned to drive in our family’s 15-passenger van and drove it home the day I got my learner’s permit. But even years of driving that “church bus,” as my friends called it, did not prepare me for just how big a Mercedes Sprinter passenger van would be! At almost 23 feet long and 9.5 feet tall, the 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van is hands down the largest vehicle I have ever driven.
Note: The model we drove was a 2019. As of this writing, the 2019 is no longer listed on the Mercedes Vans website, but the 2020 Mercedes Sprinter is.

Who Needs a 15-Passenger Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van?
The obvious answer is large families. Even if you don’t need fifteen seats, the extra cargo space afforded by removing the last row of seats means you can take the whole family and the luggage. And maybe the dog too.
When we had the 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van for a week, we enjoyed a few small road trips with extended family, and it was really nice for each person to have their own bucket seat with shoulder belt, cup holder, and plenty of legroom. We did take out the last row of seats and were able to haul luggage for seven, a pack-and-play playpen, a large stroller, a large cooler, lawn chairs, and two large Rubbermaid tubs full of food and supplies for a week on the beach! And we could still see out the windows.
This van is also great for churches, ministries, and other organizations that need to accommodate large group outings.
And finally, it’s a fantastic vehicle for anyone who travels. Need to take the bikes and kayaks with you? Just remove some seats and load your outdoor gear into the extra space. You won’t have to worry about tying things down or having things get wet in the weather. Looking for a place to sleep? You’ve got one right there waiting for you!
Even if you don’t plan to buy one, we think this is a great vehicle to consider renting for road trips, big outings, or families that find themselves hauling plenty of kids.

It’s Tall. And Long.
When it comes to the exterior there isn’t a whole lot to talk about. This isn’t a sports car with sexy lines. If it turns heads it’s cause it’s gigantuous. But, of all the big people movers on the market, it is the sleekest, especially in solid black or dark blue. (There are 10 colors to choose from!) And of course, the Mercedes emblem on the grille lets you know that the real treat is on the inside.

The Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van is a Luxurious People Mover
Step right on up into the most comfortable van you’ve ever ridden. Individual leather bucket-style seats. Cupholders for everyone. USB charging ports on each row. And plenty of legroom. This isn’t your ordinary church bus.
One of the things we loved the most was the standing height. Even my 6′ 2″ tall husband could stand straight up inside this van! We also liked the very sturdy step that lowers when you open the door and the grab bar for stability as you’re stepping up into the van. This made it easy for the grandparents to enter and exit the vehicle, and it helped me to feel safer when climbing in and out with the baby in my arms.
And the front seats have extendable sections for those with longer legs. I had never seen this in a van before, but it felt really nice to pull those out to just the right length for my legs so that my knees didn’t experience so much strain on long trips.
