Summer is get-in-the-car-and-go time.

My husband and I love a good road trip anytime of the year, but especially . We create a playlist for everything and if there is one thing that must be on point, it is our Summer Playlist.

This is usually created at the beginning of the season and then throughout June, July, and August we add music to it. What I love about creating our list is adding a mixture of old and new songs. There are some old standbys that once you hear them you just know what time of year it is.

Some Highlights of Our Playlist

When you hear “Summertime” by Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff, you know summer is officially here. In my opinion this song will forever be a summertime classic.

I also love Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.” Such a fun song! And I can definitely see myself riding with the windows down and dancing. There is always a dance party in my car; my kids even get in on the fun. I’m pretty sure this one will be a staple in future playlists.

Samuel Jack “Feels Like Summer” gives you all the summer feels! Especially if you have a chance to catch the video! Definitely takes you back to your childhood days of playing outside, and doing all of the summer activities like roller skating down the street, using sidewalk chalk, dancing in the street, water fights, meeting up with friends and outside summer concerts!

Summer Songs Keep Us Going All Year long

Summer has a different vibe than other seasons; it is literally the best time of the year. Nothing is better than riding in the car listening to music, or sitting around and enjoying the weather outside. And later in the year when you hear those songs that made up your summer playlist, it all comes flooding back: the ease, the carefree days, even the scent of coconut sunscreen.

It’s so easy to enjoy your days when the sun is shining, kids are out of school, road tripping, or enjoying vacations. There is always something to do or somewhere to go to have fun and enjoy the sunshine and amazing weather. A great summer playlist to enjoy while being out and about makes it all the better.

I hope one of my favorite summer songs become yours, too!
