Toyota and the Boston Auto Show: Winter in New England the Right Way

A Girls Guide to Cars | Toyota and the Boston Auto Show: Winter in New England the Right Way - sbcboston

When it comes to the weather, Boston’s got it.

And when weather meets environment? Boston’s got that, too. Too much snow = miserable winter. Too little snow = drought. Hot summer = crowded beaches. Cold spring = crowded malls. Not just the weather, but how we react to it impacts the environment, too, something that New Englanders have become increasingly focused on.

So have automakers.

The 2017 New England International Auto Show will showcase some of the top ways that cars and trucks can help people to cope with bad weather, make the best of good weather and highlight the more sustainable, less impactful ways people can get around.

One of the top stories on display will be the Toyota Prius Prime, Toyota’s newest entry in the super fuel efficient segment. Prime is set apart by it’s ability to be both a fuel-sipping hybrid as well as an electric plug-in, perfect for city and suburban car owners.

Toyota will also showcase the hybrid Highlander, the hybrid RAV4 and the entire lineup of Prius models (yes, a whole lineup).

Think globally, act locally, right?

Boston-area Toyota dealer Grappone Toyota takes this idea to heart. Toyota provides its dealers a matching grant they can use to benefit local charities as they would like. Grappone works with a number of local non-profits including the Five Rivers Conservation Trust, which has the mission of protecting the land along the Blackwater, Contoocook, Merrimack, Soucook, and Warner rivers, helping communities to maintain a clean water supply and to share their ideas with other river communities.
