Taking a ride in the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

June 1, 2015 by Scotty Reiss 2 Comments

2015 Mustang GT

The 2015 Mustang GT 5.0: newly redesigned and just as fun to drive as it is to look at.

What’s it like to be behind the wheel of one of the most iconic cars on the road today?

And also, drive a car with 435 horsepower?!?

It’s a head-turner, that’s for sure. And an adrenaline pumper. And a lot of fun.

This actually happened this week when I was getting gas.

Drove the 2016 #MustangGT and this happened. Made my day! #Ford #V8 #5.0 #Drivelikeagirl

This guy wasn’t alone; at least three MEN asked me to take them for a ride in the Mustang. And a few more gave me the hi sign or a thumbs up. My daughter’s friends said to her, “your mom’s car is sick!”

The Mustang is iconic for Ford. When the company celebrated the 50th birthday of this classic, they redesigned it –and put Marcy Fisher in charge of the project– to incorporate both some vintage details and to give it even more soul than ever. Marcy’s vision was that the Mustang would make you feel as if you’re in the cockpit of an airplane, and you’ll see in the video, it does.

This isn’t your fun family sedan or your go-to work horse of a car. You’ll feel the thrill of the road--even at 25MPH! – while you get where you need to go. Although it does seat four, and I did have four people in the car often the week I drove it, it’s best when it’s just you and your co-pilot. Or, just you.

Hehehe: Mustang’s designers had fun with this: Reminding you that you’re on the ground, not in the air

This is a car with an engine so powerful that it begs to be driven fast. So while it’s not exercising its natural talents on suburban streets, highway on ramps take on a whole new life.

But what I wanted to share with you is this: The drive experience. I was wearing a Panasonic A500 POV (point of view) camera, which is strapped to my cap so it sees what I see. No unsafe video shooting here. If you have questions or comments, please share below!

Enjoy the ride!

Disclosure: Ford provided the Mustang for my test drive; Panasonic provided the A500 POV camera. I was not compensated for this post, and the fun was all mine.
