Our Daughter’s First Car
When I was shopping for a walker for my 3rd child I was really tempted by the car walkers, particularly this Ford F-150 walker. But I knew she would only use the walker a short while so we got something classic and held out for a ride-on. Her first car was a pink Radio Flier roadster that I found new, tags still on it, at a consignment sale. They don’t make that model anymore, but this little red one is super cute! It was perfect for her at about 18 months because she was walking well enough to get to it and get on and off by herself. But she very quickly outgrew it. About a year later I was at my nephew’s birthday party and he received a blue and yellow pickup truck. Right then and there I looked it up and found Little Tikes also made a princess truck in pink and purple, plus a slew of other cute cars. I added the Ladybug Coupe to Little Miss’ Amazon wishlist and about a week later I found the box on our doorstep. Her aunties had gotten together and bought it for her and it’s been a HUGE hit.

The Classic Cozy Coupe Grows Up
You probably had the little red and yellow car growing up, and if you didn’t, a friend did. Little Tikes still makes this little car, but they’ve expanded their lineup to include an adorable ladybug car, a princess pickup truck, a fairy car, an ice cream truck and even a race car! There are so many options we can’t list them all. And for the girl who has a garage full and needs to fuel up regularly, there’s a gas pump.
But they aren’t the only name in the game. Just like you have options for real cars, ride-on cars for toddlers come in every shape and size. There are licensed cars that look just like mom’s ride and there are fun 3 or 4-in-1 cars that transition with your child from learning to walk, to being pushed to driving on their own.
