Admit it. We’ve all spent time daydreaming about going rogue and breaking all the rules and norms with a mischievous grin—just to get more done. But then you know, regulations, laws, and being *responsible* brings us back to reality.

That idea is part of the charm of the Nissan Rogue. And for 2027, it’s been updated with a sleek new look and hybrid power to make us feel like the rules don’t apply to us and giving us confidence behind the wheel.

The Nissan Rogue, for its flexibility, confidence and capability, has been one of the most popular SUVs on the road for decades. Now, with a modern refresh and hybrid power, it’s set to again break all kinds of rules.

This story is 100% human-researched and written based on actual first-person knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise on the subject of cars and trucks.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Gets A Modern Look

New Rogue, who dis?! The 2027 Nissan Rogue has a sharp new face, giving rivals like the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Toyota RAV4 a run for their money. With a more rounded shape and sharp aerodynamic lines, it has a unique style to stand out in a crowded compact SUV segment.

The design features a new front face; gone is the old “V Motion” design, replaced with a new look that incorporates angled LED headlights while maintaining the classic “hamburger” logo (yes, it’s a hamburger and yes, that idea makes me chuckle!). Meanwhile, the current generation has had the same style for about five years.

You’ll notice that the rear end has also been updated with wrap-around taillights that complement the black roof and front bumper. New shades of paint and wheel designs complete the rugged and sporty look.

Sadly, the interior is being kept under wraps for now, but it’s safe to expect a modern refresh with storage innovations and new upholstery colors. Also, the new Nissan Rogue hybrid system will be larger than before, so we’re wondering if it’ll impact passenger or cargo space. With recent innovations in hiding away batteries and systems, we think not, but will have to see when the 2027 Rogue arrives later this year.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Will Save Even More Gas

While we love the updated look and feel fo the current-generation Nissan Rogue, it’s missing hybrid power—something most of its competitors have. There is the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) model, but it costs a little more than a traditional hybrid would.

So, the 2027 Nissan Rogue hybrid will have to do more than simply catch up with competitors. Nissan says it will; it’ll be powered by a new hybrid system designed to combine a gas engine with dual electric motors to power the wheels for smooth acceleration and enhanced performance. It should feel more like an effortless EV than a chugging and thunking gas-powered SUV.

Most importantly is its efficiency in reducing how often you stop at the gas station to fill up. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the Rogue’s release date to find out just how much gas it’ll save and how much horsepower it’ll generate.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue hybrid will build on the brand’s rugged reputation for dependability and reliability that buyers have counted on for decades. Since the Rogue was introduced 2000 (2007 for the US), it has been Nissan’s sales leader with over 10 million sold.

With an intelligent all-wheel drive system, towing power, and an abundance of passenger space for child seats, it’s like a Swiss army knife that helps people get where they need to go every day.

The next-generation Rogue should stay true to to this mission, but also, break that rule about having to stop often for gas.

When Will We See the Next-Generation Nissan Rogue?

The 2027 Nissan Rogue hybrid is expected to arrive at dealerships in the fall of 2026 and we should learn more about it this summer. Stay tuned for our first drive impressions; we can’t wait to take the new model for a spin.

And, stay tuned for its price. While Nissan hasn’t said yet, the 2026 Nissan Rogue starts at $29,090 and the top-spec Platinum AWD trim increases the price to $38,990. The Rogue PHEV starts at about $38,990.

Rumors currently suggest that the 2027 Rogue will start at about $31,000. This could undercut the price of the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which currently starts at about $31,900.

Talk about breaking the rules and getting away with it; but if that’s the case, this Rogue deserves to wear a satisfying smile.
