NYC Luxury Apartment Perks: Borrow a GM Car
General Motors Let’s Drive NYC available to residents of The Ritz Plaza.
In the race for amenities, some luxury NYC apartments come with private roof decks, designer play spaces and indoor lap pools. Now The Ritz Plaza, near Times Square, sets the bar even higher with a new program, Let’s Drive NYC.
Using a mobile app developed by General Motors, Ritz Plaza residents can reserve a GM car and park at one of 200 garages around the city. The car sharing program, part of GM’s urban mobility programs, offers residents three hours of driving per month; additional time is under $10 an hour, or $75 for 24 hours. The Chevrolet Trax and Chevrolet Equinox SUVs are perfect for trips to big box stores or bringing the soccer team to a game across town.
Reducing urban car congestion
Ford Motor Company is developing e-bikes for what it calls a multimodal journey and Mercedes Benz is a partner in the car sharing program Car2Go. GM’s Let’s Drive NYC adds a twist, with parking, so those who are making short car trips around the city don’t have to drive around searching for a parking spot.
