What do handcrafted watches and cars have to do with each other? Lincoln unveiled its new MKC sports utility vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in a gallery curated by Shinola, the Detroit artisan maker of watches as well as bicycles and small leather goods. Both American made, Lincoln and Shinola focus on design and the luxury MKC features a sleek body, a shiny Tricoat finish and buttery soft leather seats.
Worth Waiting For
The cars, which will be built in Louisville, KY, won’t hit showrooms until this summer, but they will be well worth the wait. You will be able to start, lock and unlock the car using your smartphone – it even has a ‘finder’ functionaity built in in case you are the type of person who loses her car (not judging…). Of course the car also will have what is becoming standard for in-car technology; voice-activated or touchscreen commands, blind spot warnings and rear view camera, lane departure and collision warnings. With a car this good looking, you will want to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.
