The Perfect Frame for my Neon Hue Life: 2019 Toyota Avalon
White Goes With Everything!
by Claudia Sosa, Neon Hue
Can we discuss these colors? I rang in the new year by test driving the 2019 Toyota Avalon Touring Edition. And let me tell you, she does not disappoint. Fully equipped with all the bells and whistles and latest tech, I was quite spoiled in this car.
As a fashion and style expert, color is my thing. The Avalon I drove came in Wind Chill Pearl, simply stunning color. I love how the black accents stand out against it. Wind Chill Pearl paired with gloss-black 19-inch wheels makes the aesthetic of the car so nice. Add a pop of red (like my coat) and you’ve got a great Instagram photo!
In case you didn’t know, women buy or influence 85% of all car purchases. Yes, we do. We are the smart, savvy shoppers. It’s so important to do your research when it comes to a big purchase like a car. I’ve teamed up with A Girls Guide to Cars to experience the Toyota Avalon and do the research for you.
A Great Ride, and Safety and Tech Features to Keep You Focused on the Road
The ride is really smooth thanks to the adaptive variable suspension and the powerful V6 engine. The bar has been raised. Toyota also pushed the envelope by bringing advanced tech that keeps our drive safer and prevents accidents from happening. A perfect example would be the blind spot monitor. This feature warns the driver when another car has entered the blind spot. There is also the rear cross traffic alert which helped warn me when another car was too close. The Avalon has sounds and lights to keep you alert of any mishaps.
But the coolest feature that stood out to me is the ‘Head-Up’ display. The driver is not forced to look down and become distracted. The display is projected on the lower portion of the windshield right in front of you. It’s just so convenient. It displays the current speed limit in the area, your driving speed, and fuel level.
Finally, an Excuse to say ‘Let’s Go Places’
The Avalon takes you places with a user-friendly navigation system. It’s designed with pinch and zoom capabilities and the directions are accurate. The GPS can be accessed via the infotainment system. Not to mention, the screen size is big! No one likes squinting and looking down when driving- this is a big plus.
Easy Access Entertainment
Apple Car Play is a must-have in the car. I really enjoyed this feature. I simply connected my phone using a USB cable and all of my apps were displayed on the beautiful 9-inch capacitive touchscreen! I was even able to connect my Apple watch to the car. In case you’re wondering why anyone would want to use this feature–it really came in handy. Dropping off my son at school was easier. I did not have to fiddle with my watch or look away from the road. Plus, the feature allows drivers to lock or unlock their doors, start the car, check on the gas level, and more by using a smartwatch. It’s also got the capability to control using your voice. It’s compatible with Amazon Alexa and select Android or Apple devices. Among the first to have home-to-car and car-to-home interactions, Toyota’s tech is beyond amazing.
Will the Toyota Avalon be my next car?
Could be! Our current lease is about to end so this was the perfect time to test out and experience a new ride. It was a great experience getting to know the Toyota Avalon. It definitely took me places with style, comfort, and safety.
