2024 Toyota Highlander Is a Popular Toyota SUV
A great mid-size SUV, this was the first in Toyota’s SUV family to get a hybrid power train and prove that SUVs don’t have to get poor fuel economy. The Highlander Hybrid has a 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain that gets 35 MPG, generates 243 HP and is available in all models. The Highlander, priced from $39K, is available in front or all wheel drive with multi-terrain drive modes. Plus, it has two engine options. The other is a gas powered power plant is a 4-cylinder engine that generates 265HP and gets 25 MPG. The Toyota Highlander can seat 5, 7 or 8 passengers.
The Toyota Highlander Is a Fantastic People and Stuff Mover
This mid-size SUV is touted for its flexibility; the Toyota Highlander is easy to drive and park, and comfortable for 4 or 5 passengers. With the 3rd row down it has excellent cargo space. The 3rd row, which seats 3, is there when you need it but is not huge so it’s more of a convenience than a daily use 3rd row. That way you can go to dinner in one car when family visits or add an extra teammate or two to the carpool.
2024 Grand Highlander: Grand Means Space, and Lots of It!
The Grand Highlander, priced from $43K-$58K, was a much-needed addition to the Toyota SUV lineup. It has more interior space than the Highlander and even the largest SUV, the Sequoia, and it has more flexibiltiy and is better suited for kids car seats. It also offers some fantastic basics. An extra large cabin, it seats 7 or 8 passengers and features slide and tilt center row seats to make 3rd row access easy. Its capacity for kids car seats is a secret weapon. Even rear facing seats will fit nicely!

A New Toyota SUV With Engines and Options Galore
The Grand Highlander offers a 4-cylinder turbo gas-powered engine that generates 265 HP. But for buyers who want true hybrid efficiency there is a 4-cylinder Grand Highlander Hybrid model that puts out 245HP (this is the same engine as the Highlander Hybrid) and there is an i-Force Max hybrid option that produces 362 HP; power is more the point than fuel economy, a factor that drivers will appreciate when there are butts in all the seats. All models are available in all wheel drive with multiple drive modes.
Grand Highlander Is Bigger and Better
Grand Highlander’s interior options run the gamut from basic to premier luxury. But the seating space is what’s really worth noting because the 3rd row, which seats 3, is big enough for adults or for maneuvering to install kids car seats. Features such as air vents, cup holders and USB ports are all baked into the Grand Highlander’s 3rd row, so everyone will be happy there.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser: A Legacy Reimagined
The redesigned 2024 Land Cruiser remade this formerly family-focused SUV as a heritage brand to carry on the legendary off-road reputation. It no longer offers a 3rd row (for now, at least) and it is only offered in 3 trim levels: 1958 (base model), Land Cruiser (the middle of the line) and First Edition. Each of these has the same 4-cylinder i-Force Max hybrid engine that generates 326 HP. Remember, the i-Force Max hybrid is designed more for power more than MPG, so this SUV is estimated to get about 23 MPG. Not bad, but not in the ranks of the Highlander hybrid.
It’s Cool and Capable But Best for Small Adventurous Families
Update
Priced from $55k-$75K, this is a dedicated off-roading SUV with all the capabilities of top 4-wheelers. Land Cruiser’s new look harkens to the brand’s heritage with an iconic 1950’s-style logo and a crisp, boxy shape with adventurous appeal. It seats 5 people and has plenty of room for gear to explore the ends of the earth.
2024 Toyota 4Runner: Make Way for 2025
The super popular 2024 Toyota 4Runner remains a solid and reliable model, especially for off-road enthusiasts. But an all-new 2025 model, built on the platform of the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and featuring many of the same interior details, is set to hit the market this fall. Unlike the Tacoma, the 4Runner still offers a 3rd row in two models: The gas-powered SR5 and Limited editions. The 2024 4Runner has a price range of $40,705 – $55,170, though the 2025 model will probably get a price upgrade, too.
Two New Trims Fill Out the 4Rummer Lineup: Platinum And Trailhunter
In addition to the SR5, Limited and TRD Pro models, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner adds a top of the line Platinum model and a Trailhunter edition for off-road trail riding. Toyota also expanded the TRD line to include TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road and TRD Off-Road Premium. All of these feature a 4-cylinder turbo that generates 278 HP. For more power, buyers can opt for the i-Force Max hybrid engine that generates 326 HP.
2024 Toyota Sequoia: Hit the Trails With the Entire Crew
The Toyota Sequoia, priced from about $61K-$81K, is a great SUV with space and capability. It seats up to 8, tows up to 9,520 lbs. and it has a full-fledged 4WD system for true off-roading. The TRD Pro version has extra off-road upgrades. The 2022 redesign of this popular family SUV updated the Sequoia’s interior, adding the improved Toyota multimedia system and extras like “Hey Toyota” voice activation and a panoramic sunroof.
The New Toyota Sequoia Has a Hybrid Engine
Toyota’s i-Force Max V6 turbo hybrid engine which generates 437 HP and gets about 22 MPG powers the 2024 Sequoia. The majority of Sequoia models come standard with rear wheel drive, but can be upgraded to 4WD for about $3,000. There are 3 rows standard and plenty of interior space, but configuring kids car seats can be a challenge; center row seats flip and fold rather than slide forward for 3rd row access, making this SUV better for big kids or families who prefer captains chairs to a center row bench.
2024 Toyota RAV4: Affordable, Capable and Lovable, with Options
This is the most popular Toyota SUV and it’s no wonder why. The Toyota RAV4 is a versatile and well-loved crossover priced from about $28K to about $47K. It seats 5 and offers 3 engine options: A gas-powered 4-cylinder that generates 203 HP and gets 30 MPG; a 4-cylinder hybrid that puts out 219 HP and gets 37MPG. Then, there’s the RAV4 Prime, a plug-in hybrid (among the fastest Toyota models in the lineup) with an all electric range of 42 miles, 302 HP and hybrid fuel economy of 38 MPG.
It’s the ‘Just Right’ Two-Row Family Crossover
2024 RAV4 trim options include the entry-level LE, XLE, Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, Limited and Woodland Edition (the RAV4 Prime plug-in is only available in SE and XSE trims). Buyers can choose front wheel drive or AWD on almost every trim. This spritely crossover features sport, normal and eco drive modes for all RAV4 models. AWD models also include multi-terrain select drive modes for off-roading or trail driving.
2024 Toyota Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid
The Corolla Cross takes the cake for bringing the ease of ownership and driving that the Corolla offers into the crossover space. The two Corolla Cross engine options are a gas-powered 4-cylinder that generates 169 HP and gets 33MPG, and a 4-cylinder hybrid that generates 196 HP and gets about 45 MPG. The 2024 Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid models range in price from $23K- $31K.
Corolla Cross Models: 4 With Standard Hybrid Engine
Of the 7 available Corolla Cross models to choose from, 4 of them come equipped with the hybrid engine. All of the hybrid models come with on demand AWD as standard equipment.
2024 Toyota Venza Is a Cushy Hybrid Crossover
Under the hood of the Venza, a hybrid powertrain delivers power and efficiency by pairing a gasoline engine and electric motors. The result is a hybrid SUV that not only offers instant torque for responsive acceleration, but also enables the vehicle to run on electric power alone for short distances. This is a sweet way to reduce fuel consumption and emissions without sacrificing on drive quality. And, its premium details may be Toyota’s best kept secret; this SUV feels really premium.
A Snazzy Interior Defines Venza, and Inspires Crown Signia
Toyota Venza prices range from $34,62 – $42,765. Trims start with a well-equipped base model, include a mid-tier option with added comfort and technology; a Nightshade Edition and a cushy top-tier model. The Venza will be replaced by the Crown Signia for 2025, and that model will also feature a hybrid power train and luxe trimmings. What it won’t have is the Venza’s “Stargaze” panoramic sunroof that frosts or goes clear with the swipe of a button. The Venza also gets 37-40 MPG on every single model available.
The Toyota bZ4X: Electrified
Meet the Toyota bZ4x, an all electric car with up to 252 miles of driving range, flexible room for 5 passengers, plenty of cargo space, all wheel drive and a price tag of $42K-$46K (before tax incentives, which can be few since it’s not built in the US). It is Toyota’s first full electric car and it has some nice perks, but also look at the Lexus RZ which has the same power plant but more perks.
