2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed: A 300 Mile Delight of Elegant Color and Brilliance

When Bentley hands you the keys to its newest luxury sedan and sends you on a 300-mile road trip in Arizona, you go. Within the embrace of a sumptuously appointed 2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed, this trip comprised curvy canyon roads, fast highways, and surface streets. The sedan conquers all the above with class, style, and plenty of power.
And it’s breathtakingly gorgeous, too. While the previous generation of Bentley’s beautiful Spur was available with burly V8 and W12 gas-only engine options, don’t worry: with the new hybrid setup, it’s still incredibly powerful and smooth.
Equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor, the newest Bentley Flying Spur Speed is capable of 771 horsepower in total. Combined with the new engine, design, and color options, the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed is the perfect combination of beauty, brawn, and brains.
This story is 100% human-researched and written based on actual first-person knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise on the subject of cars and trucks. Additionally, I was a guest of Bentley for this event, though all opinions and impressions are my own.
The Flying Spur Speed Comes in a Flury of Colors… For a Price

Pricing for the Bentley Flying Spur Speed starts at $272,300 plus fees and ranges up past the $300,000 mark depending on the configuration. In Arizona, I got to see a palette of choices and options.
For example, the Neptune blue Flying Spur Speed with open-pore walnut wood trim, sumptuous leather, the upgraded 19-speaker Naim audio system, and other niceties were $334,690 as equipped.
Bentley says there are “billions” of colors available for owners to create their Bentley exactly the way they want it. My test model was trimmed in a deep purple called Damson over a creamy White Sand base, and Storm Gray over Kingfisher blue was another favorite.
The ultimate Bentley color, in my opinion, is Cricket Ball. It’s a rich red symbolizing the iconic sphere used in cricket games around the world, and it’s beautiful on the inside or the outside.
How the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed Carves Canyons

From massaging seats that prevent fatigue to an incredible 20-speaker audio system to its gorgeous body, the Bentley Flying Spur Speed offers a singular experience.
On its own, the Flying Spur’s electric motor affords you 47 miles of all-electric range, which is more than the average American commutes in a single day (according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics). Paired with the brilliant twin-turbo V8, it’s efficient and powerful when it needs to be.
All in all, this four-door car provides a superlative ride that defies gravity. On the road between Phoenix to Sedona with a gradual descent, the Bentley Flying Spur Speed rolled forward while using barely any energy from my foot to the pedal. Its impressive momentum and superbly engineered chassis move nearly three tons of steel, leather, and wood effortlessly.
Bentley says 2026 will bring an all-electric vehicle to the lineup, and there’s no question in my mind that it will be as smooth and impressive as the new hybrid.
Exploring the Arizona Desert, Bentley-Style

During a scenic drive between the Four Seasons Scottsdale and Sedona and back again, my driver partner Jaclyn Trop and I pushed all the buttons, inspected the finish, and explored the infotainment system.
The top speed of the Bentley Flying Spur Speed is 177 mph; while we didn’t approach that number, we found that it was more than capable of accelerating on a satisfying upward curve. As for drive modes, Bentley mode is the default.
This option provides a happy medium between Comfort, the most refined choice, and Sport, which unlocks the most zip while stiffening the suspension. Custom mode offers the chance to create a driving experience that’s uniquely you.
Passing Saguaro cacti (did you know you can earn jail time for damaging one of these desert beauties?) and acres of red mountains so beautiful it’s almost criminal in itself, Jaclyn and I settled into the best part of any drive: the conversation. With tears in our eyes from laughing so hard, we didn’t take for granted the easygoing nature of the Bentley Flying Spur Speed. It was so smooth that the ride was akin to a seat in a private jet than in a car.
The Driver’s Seat Was a Luxurious Place to Be

Sliding behind the wheel—or in one of the plush passenger seats, for that matter—feels like entering a spa. It’s no surprise that Bentley chooses the softest leather and highest-end materials inside the cabin. The real star is the optional Wellness Seats, which harness body-sensitive technology paired with sensors and software to monitor your temperature.
Bentley says it can even sense when you’re going to sweat even before you do, and it adjusts accordingly. Even better, these spa-like surfaces can soothe all four passengers in the ultra-luxury sedan.
The brand’s technology also adjusts the seats to ensure it’s offering you the best angle. Sitting for any length of time can result in what Bentley’s Mike Sayer calls “numb bum.” It’s all about blood flow, he says. As the seat changes shape beneath your—uh—bum, your blood flow adjusts, which increases alertness and reduces fatigue. That means you’ll not only enjoy your road trips even more (or even a jaunt to Target), but you’ll be safer as well.
As we entered the Sedona area, I spotted an abandoned wicker chair along the side of the road in an open clearing. That looks like a perfect spot for a photo shoot, I told her. She whipped the car around and we did just that.
Technology Upgrades Enhance the Experience

A slick 12.3-inch touchscreen sits in the center of the console, complete with gesture control and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Saying “Hey Bentley” wakes up the system and connects the car to voice commands so you can keep your eyes on the road.
Breathing easy was no problem, thanks to Bentley’s new air conditioning system. It enhances air quality by filtering out tiny allergens and pollution particles. Bentley says the system measures pollutant levels inside and outside the car and automatically recirculates the air inside if the air outside is foul. It automatically kicks into recirculation mode when you enter a tunnel, assisted by GPS data to inform the car of its upcoming land features.
Choose from three audio options, starting with the standard Bentley Signature Audio system. Upgrades include a 16-channel Bang & Olufsen for the Bentley system or the Big Mama of them all, a 20-channel Naim for the Bentley system. Jaclyn and I cruised the highway blasting Yacht Rock, which seemed apropos. Truly, you just can’t beat singing car karaoke to Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” or “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire in a Bentley.
