Are you sure I can’t keep this one?

Every Wednesday, for the past three years, I have received a new car to test drive and review. If you’ve seen my social media feeds, you’ll notice my reviews run the gamut from cars, trucks and SUVs. Sometimes, when they come to take the test car away, I don’t want to give them back. The 2018 Audi TT RS Quattro, is just one of those cars. This seductive coupe is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-five-cylinder turbocharged engine. Equipped with so many features to highlight, it officially makes this automotive journalist’s heart skip a beat…or two.

Inspired by the 1984 Audi Sport Quattro, the third-generation TT RS exterior is sexy, sleek, and menacing. It’s definitely a show stopper. Everywhere we went, heads turned, and you could hear “wow, that’s a beautiful car.” And it sure is, beginning with its distinctive hatchback body and honeycomb grille, front spoiler with the words Quattro, and its fixed wing rear spoiler makes a lasting impression.

Sit Back and Enjoy the Ride

Behind the wheel is where the magic happens; push the red button in the steering wheel to awaken this beauty.  2.5-liter inline-five turbocharged engine which produces 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Press on the accelerator and the TT RS sprints from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds with a delightful sound from its twin exhaust finishers. But the TT RS can be tamed into a comfortable daily cruiser for in-city driving.  Even though it’s a low-slung sports car I didn’t have the same feeling as I did with its rival the Porsche Cayman where I felt every bump in the road and had to proceed carefully over the pesky road bumps. Not in the TT RS rides smooth as butter, and the steering is much softer versus the Porsche Cayman. Which emits a cranking sound every time you turn the steering, which I am told it’s what most car purists love. Not this car girl.

The Audi TT RS Quattro is Stunning Inside Out

Its eye-catching interior is simply gorgeous, with comfortable black leather seats with diamond switching pattern and aluminum trim throughout the cabin and the most beautiful black and red seat belts. We loved the new look of the infotainment system which is now integrated into the gauge cluster. You can or via a rotary knob near the gear shift selector. Technology-wise it’s a complete package as it includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Who This Car is For

If you’re into fast, beautiful rides this may be the car for you. The rear seat is there as a mere suggestion. There is simply no room for adults or kids for that matter. Good luck getting in and out unless you are a yogi. When the back row is folded down, the coupe’s trunk space is 12 cubic feet good enough for a Costco run or a quick shopping spree.

All That and a Bag of Hot Spicy Cheetos

The 2018 Audi TT RS Quattro is a hot and spicy sports coupe. Much like eating flaming hot Cheetos, you can’t just eat one. This spicy coupe is a mix of performance, stunning looks, all-wheel drive capabilities, and amazing technology. It can be spicy for the weekday commute or a hot rod for a fun weekend drive. What the TT RS will never be is plain or boring. For me, it was love at first sight.

Base price for the 2018 Audi TT RS Quattro is $64,900.00; as tested $79,625.00.
