6 Reasons the 2021 Cadillac Escalade Luxury 3 Row SUV is the A-List Mom Taxi

A Girls Guide To Cars | 6 Reasons The 2021 Cadillac Escalade Luxury 3 Row Suv Is The A-List Mom Taxi - Cadillac Featured

A clean refined interior, uber amounts of space and high-tech earn big points in the new Cadillac Escalade

Have you ever had that hypothetical conversation with someone where you ask, “would you rather have a chauffeur, chef, nanny, or housekeeper?” It sure does seem like Cadillac’s new Escalade was inspired by that question. I recently had the chance to spend a day in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade Premium and it actually made me feel like I kind of had a chauffeur, chef, and a housekeeper.

I certainly felt like I had a stylist.  The Escalade’s stunning good looks were the first thing I noticed. It was recently completely redesigned, with innovations like curved glass displays, Supercruise drive assistance and all new control panels. In our test model, the color combination had me saying my first “wow.” The  blue exterior with an all beige interior is a smashing duo. The interior space and all the new tech combined to make me say “wow” again – several times over. The curved driver information and media center OLED screens are a whopping 38 inches across and provide an overwhelming amount of information at first glance.

Our test Escalade was equipped with the Platinum package: interior cooler, night vision and power side step, plus a few other niceties. Ours was also all-wheel drive, which I would opt for, for its handling in all seasons and conditions. This configuration brings the Escalade price to a total of $109,500. To be fair, that puts it in the budget for people who can actually have a chauffeur, chef, nanny, or housekeeper. But it’s luxury all the way, and one of the largest 3-row SUVs on the market, so you truly get the six-figure package with this one.

This is the A-List Mom Taxi and here are 6-reasons Why

1. The Center Console Keeps You Cool

I was looking around for a spot to put my purse when I discovered that the center console is actually a functioning cooler with two cooling levels, built right in. Talk about a cool convenience for after practice or a game, keeping the water bottles chilled for your gaggle of kiddos you are carpooling home. Not only great for drinks, keep those sandwiches fresh on the road when you’ve got a longer trek ahead of you or on the way to the family picnic. Kind of like having a chef on hand with cold refreshments for everyone.

2. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Amazing Screens

One of the most important parts of driving is music for me. I want easy, seamless, I want the car to connect with my phone the second I hop in, and I want an excellent sound system. The Escalade offers all of the above including insane speakers in the headrests and an unreal sound system. I know that a DJ isn’t usually on the list of hypothetical helpers you’d hire for your life, but I wouldn’t need one anyway in the Escalade.

The wireless Apple CarPlay was clear, bright and full screen on the massive curved screen.

3. Supercruise

Supercruise is like adaptive cruise control leveled up, way up. It’s nearly completely autonomous hands-free driving while on the highway and will even change lanes for you, not unlike a chauffeur.

Yes, it will take some getting used to – hey who is used to having self-driving cars? Not me, not yet. But this is a fantastic first step from Cadillac, especially in a family car!

4. Lots of chargers and kid entertainment

There are no shortage of chargers and screens to keep all the kiddos engaged, charged up and entertained for longer drives or while they wait for siblings. The rear screens offer everything from navigation display to games and integration for you to plug your devices into it, like HDMI. Cadillac certainly makes it so I don’t need a nanny. At least, not in the car.

5. A Plethora of Space!

The large boxy shape of the Escalade has not changed too much meaning there is still an abundance of space in the interior for both second and third row passengers. Need room for cargo and gear? There is 25.5 cubic feet of space with all three rows in use and 72.9 when the third row is folded down.

If you want even more, upgrade to the ESV model for 41.5 cubic feet when the third row is in use.

6. Wipe clean leather

Leather or faux leather is simply the best seat covering for a family car. I used to just wipe down my seats when the girls were small on a regular basis, and while the Whisper Beige on this might look scary for staining, even denim stains can be wiped off. And, Cadillac’s leather is super supple and it has a heavenly smell; it is just too good to pass up as an option. While maybe I would still opt for a housekeeper, I wouldn’t need them to clean out my car.

The Cadillac Escalade has been redesigned for modern families who want it all. You will find every luxury amenity inside the Escalade’s roomy interior including seating for up to eight. Opt for this Whisper Beige interior and you’ll feel like you’re living up in the clouds with its ultra smooth drive experience as well. If your budget is full-size, opt for the full-size Escalade. Then you don’t have to decide between chauffeur, chef, nanny, and housekeeper.

Disclosure: Cadillac provided the Escalade for this review but all opinions are my own.
